MCPD Arrest Report 09/21/2017

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 38 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result beginning on 09/20/2017:

Terrell Irvin, 19 years of age, address: Garber St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 09/20/2017 @ 12:27 a.m.

Charges: Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
                 Resisting an Officer
                 Warrant: Probation Violation
                 Warrant: F.T.A. to Pay Fine on 01/03/2017 (2 Counts)
                 Warrant: F.T.A. for Trial on 07/18/2017 (16th Judicial Court)

Patrol officers responded to a residence in the area of Onstead St. in regards to a disturbance. Officers arrived and Terrell Irvin was identified as one the parties involved. Reports indicate that Irvin provided officers with a false name upon initial contact.  According to reports, Irvin was found to be in possession of suspected drug paraphernalia. It was also found that Irvin held active warrants for his arrest through the 6th Ward and 16th Judicial Courts. Irvin was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Kevin Elliott, 57 years of age, address: Landry Ct. Morgan City, La., arrested on 09/20/2017 @ 1:45 p.m.

Charges: Simple Assault

Kevin Elliott was located and arrested in the area of David Dr. on active warrants for his arrest through the Morgan City Police. The warrant stems from an investigation conducted by patrol officers on May 01, 2015 when officers responded to a local business in the area of LA 182. According to reports, Elliott allegedly assaulted the victim. Elliott had already departed the scene, therefore, warrants were prepared for his arrest. Elliott was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Courtnie Chenevert 09202017

Courtney Chenevert, 35 years of age, address: Keith St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 09/20/2017 @ 3:12 p.m.

Charges: Possession of SCH II CDS (Morphine)
                 Driving under Suspension

Patrol officers were in the area of Federal Ave. investigating a complaint where the suspect had fled the area on foot. Officers were searching the area when a vehicle was observed a vehicle traveling up and down Marshall Street in a suspicious manner. A stop was initiated and Courtnie Chenevert was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports, Chenevert’s Louisiana Driver’s License was found to be under suspension. Chenevert was also found to be in possession of suspected Morphine that she allegedly did not hold a prescription for. Chenevert was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

David Pearce 09202017

David Pearce, 41 years of age, address: River Rd. Berwick, La., arrested on 09/21/2017 @ 9:54 p.m.

Charges: Possession of SCH II CDS (Methamphetamine)

Roger Grow 09202017

Roger D. Grow, 49 years of age, address: Iowa St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 09/20/2017 @ 9:54 p.m.

Charges: Possession of SCH II CDS (Methamphetamine)

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of LA 182 negotiate and improper turn into the wrong lane of travel. A stop was initiated and David Pearce was identified as the operator of the vehicle. Roger D. Grow was identified as an occupant. According to reports, Pearce and Grow began to act in a suspicious nature.  The Morgan City Police Department K-9 Division arrived and K-9 Lady was utilized showing odor response to the presence of narcotic odor. A search of the vehicle yielded suspected Methamphetamine. Evidence was uncovered linking both Pearce and Grow to the illicit drug. Pearce and Grow were arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where they were booked and incarcerated.

MCPD Detectives Make Second Arrest In Morgan City High Investigation

Leroy D Byers 09192017

Leroy D. Byers, 35 years of age, address: Mallard St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 09/19/2017 @ 10:36 a.m.

Charges: Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
                 Possession of a Firearm with Obliterated Numbers
                 Hold for Probation and Parole

On September 18th the Morgan City Police Department began an investigation in regards to a juvenile being in possession of a firearm at the Morgan City High School. The firearm was located near but off of school property and had obliterated serial numbers. That juvenile was arrested and the investigation continued by the Detectives Division. According to reports, during the investigation, it was learned that the juvenile had obtained the firearm from a family member. That subject was identified as Leroy D. Byers. Evidence was uncovered linking Byers to the crime. It was also found that Byers was a convicted felon prohibiting him from possessing a firearm. Warrants were prepared for his arrest. Byers was located and arrested in the area of Mallard St. Byers was transported the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated. Probation and Parole also placed a detainer for Byers. The investigation is still ongoing.

MCPD Arrest Student For Having Firearm Near Morgan City High

 
Juvenile Male, 15 years of age, address: Morgan City, La., arrested on 09/18/2017 @ 10:42 a.m.

Charges: Illegal Carrying of Weapons by a Juvenile
                 Violation of a Firearm Free Zone
                 Possession of a Firearm with Obliterated Numbers

Officers with the Morgan City Police Department responded to the area of the Morgan City High School in regards to a black male subject in possession of a firearm. Officers arrived and according to reports, the complainant stated that the subject had already entered the school. Officers entered the Morgan City High School and with the aid of school personnel, the subject in question was quickly identified. School personnel placed the facility in a “Cautionary Lock Down” until law enforcement was able to locate the firearm. Contact was made with the suspect who was found to be in possession of ammunition. In speaking with the juvenile male he admitted to being in possession of the firearm and placed it near but off of the school property. With the information, the firearm was located and secured. The serial numbers were found obliterated from the weapon. Morgan City High School is within a Firearm-Free Zone. The investigation is ongoing.  This incident is a prime example of the “See Something!! Say Something!!” technique working at its best. With the information, the Morgan City Police Department was able to quickly respond and in a collaborative effort with the Morgan City High School was able to identify and potentially neutralize a threat. At no time were any students either threatened or in danger. The male juvenile was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked.

Kelly M. Verdun, 46 years of age, address: Lincoln Dr. Patterson, La., arrested on 09/19/2017 @ 2:37 p.m.

Charges: Domestic Abuse Battery

Stacy G. Verdun, 47 years of age, address: Lincoln Dr. Patterson, La., arrested on 09/19/2017 @ 2:37 p.m.

Charges: Domestic Abuse Battery

Patrol officers responded to a local business in the area of Greenwood St. in regards to a domestic disturbance. Officers arrived where Kelly M. Verdun and Stacy G. Verdun were identified as the parties involved in the dispute. According to reports, officers learned that the duo had struck each other while engaged in an argument. Both Kelly M. Verdun and Stacy G. Verdun were arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where they were booked and incarcerated.

Tagger M. Rosson, 20 years of age, address: Dawn Dr. Morgan City, La., arrested on 09/19/2017 @ 3:30 p.m.

Charges: Warrant: Probation Violation

Tagger M. Rosson was located and arrested at the Morgan City Police Department on active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Rosson was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Joseph J. Thibodeaux, 19 years of age, address: Wes Ivert St. Franklin, La., arrested on 09/19/2017 @ 3:38 p.m.

Charges: Warrant: Probation Violation

Joseph J. Thibodeaux was located and arrested at the Morgan City Police Department on active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Thibodeaux was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Erick Deleon, 23 years of age, address: Duke St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 09/19/2017 @ 4:15 p.m.

Charges: Warrant: Contempt of Court

Erick Deleon was located and arrested at the Morgan City Police Department on active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Deleon was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Brandon Reeves, 23 years of age, address: Mockingbird Ln. Walker, La., arrested on 09/19/2017 @ 11:31 p.m.

Charges: Disturbing the Peace Intoxicated
                Discharge of Firearms in the City Limits

Angel Strickland, 25 years of age, address: Honey Ln. Morgan City, La., arrested on 09/19/2017 @ 11:31 p.m. 

Charges:  Disturbing the Peace Intoxicated

Patrol officers responded to a local business in the area of LA 182 in regards to shots being fired. Officers arrived and Brandon Reeves was identified as a suspect. Reeves was found to be in an intoxicated state. According to reports, Reeves had gone and obtained a firearm from his vehicle and discharged it. Evidence was uncovered corroborating Reeves’ account. During the investigation, a female became involved and began yelling and using profanity. The female was identified as Angel Strickland. Strickland was found to be in an intoxicated state.  Reeves and Strickland were arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.


Magan R. Gaudet, 26 years of age, address: Parro Ln. Berwick, La., arrested on 09/20/2017 @ 3:10 a.m.

Charges: Warrant: F.T.A. to Pay Fine on 05/30/2017 (2 Counts)

Magan R. Gaudet was located and arrested at the Morgan City Police Department on active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Gaudet was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

MCPD Arrest Report 09/19/2017

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 32 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result beginning on 09/18/2017:

Edwin Cruz, 35 years of age, address: Ohio St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 09/18/2017 @ 1:20 p.m.

Charges: Speeding 52 mph in a 25 mph Zone
                 No Driver’s License

Patrol officers observed a vehicle traveling in the area of Onstead St. at 52 mph in a 25 mph zone. A stop was initiated and Edwin Cruz was identified as the operator of the vehicle. Cruz was found not to possess a valid Louisiana Driver’s License. Cruz was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Harpreet Singh, 37 years of age, address: Roderick St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 09/18/2017 @ 4:22 p.m.

Charges: Disturbing the Peace Intoxicated
                 Resisting an Officer

Patrol officers responded to a local business in the area of LA 182 in regards to a disturbance. According to reports, officers arrived and Harpreet Singh was identified as one of the subjects involved. Singh was found to be in an intoxicated state. Singh was arrested and upon taking him into custody he began to resist officers. Singh was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Christopher P. Waguespack, 41 years of age, address: Hwy 182, arrested on 09/18/2017 @ 8:11 p.m.

Charges: Disturbing the Peace Intoxicated
                 Proper Equipment Required on Bicycles

Patrol officers observed vehicles in the area of LA 182 taking evasive actions to avoid something in the roadway. The officer investigated and observed a male subject riding a bike without any proper lighting as required by Louisiana Law. A stop was initiated and Christopher P. Waguespack was identified. Waguespack was found to be in an intoxicated state. Waguespack was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Jonathan Murrary 09182017

Jonathan C. Murray, 32 years of age, address: Railroad Ave. Morgan City, La., arrested on 09/18/2017 @ 11:26 p.m.

Charges: Domestic Abuse Aggravated Assault
                 Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
                 Disturbing the Peace Intoxicated
                 Simple Battery

Patrol officers responded to a residence in the area of South Railroad Ave. in regards to a disturbance. Officers arrived and according to reports, Jonathan C. Murray was identified as one of the subjects in the altercation. Murray allegedly had threatened the victim during the argument with a firearm. It is also alleged that Murray struck another victim during the incident. Murray denied consent to search the residence at which time detectives with the Morgan City Police Department Narcotics Division obtained a search warrant. The firearm along with ammunition was recovered during the search. It was also learned during the investigation that Murray was prohibited from possessing a firearm due to him being a convicted felon. Murray was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

MCPD Arrest Report 09/18/2017

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 72-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 106 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result beginning on 09/15/2017:

William J. Allen, 46 years of age, address: Everett St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 09/15/2017 @ 3:00 a.m.

Charges: Driving while Intoxicated 1st Offense
                 General Speed

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of LA 182 traveling at a high rate of speed. A stop was initiated and William J. Allen was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports, Allen was found to be in an intoxicated state. Allen performed poorly on Standardized Field Sobriety Test. Allen was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail for Chemical Test. Upon arrival to the Morgan City Jail Allen submitted to chemical test registering .086g% blood alcohol content. Allen was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Denise M. Garrett, 39 years of age, address: Egle St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 09/15/2017 @ 1:30 p.m.

Charges: Warrant: Simple Assault

Denise M. Garrett was located and arrested at the Morgan City Police Department on an active arrest warrant held by the Morgan City Police. The warrant stems from an investigation conducted by patrol officers on April 26, 2017, in which Garret allegedly threatened the victim. Later the victim came to the Morgan City Police Department wishing to pursue charges at which time warrants were prepared for Garrett’s arrest. Garrett was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Silva Doblado-Flores, 25 years of age, address: Railroad Ave. Morgan City, La., arrested on 09/15/2017 @ 2:08 p.m.

Charges: Careless Operation of a Motor Vehicle
                 No Driver’s License

Patrol officers responded to the area of Railroad Ave. in regards to a crash. According to reports, officers arrived and Silva Doblado-Flores was identified as the operator of one of the vehicles involved. Evidence was uncovered that Doblado-Flores’ operated her vehicle in a careless manner which caused the crash. It was also found to Doblado-Flores did not possess a valid Louisiana Driver’s License. Doblado-Flores was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

Travis L. Gilmore, 25 years of age, address: Leo Dr. Patterson, La., arrested on 09/16/2017 @ 12:18 a.m.

Charges: Warrant: Driving while Intoxicated 2nd (Lafourche Parish)

Travis L. Gilmore was located and arrested in the area of US 90 on an active arrest warrant held by the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office. Gilmore was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Arturo Garcia 09182017

Arturo Garcia, 36 years of age, address: Lincoln Dr. Patterson, La., arrested on 09/16/2017 @ 1:10 a.m.


Charges: Driving while Intoxicated 3rd Offense
                 Illegal Use of Weapons
                 Inciting a Felony
                 Illegal Possession of a Stolen Firearm
                 No Driver’s License

A patrol officer was working a security detail when they observed gun shots being fired out of a dark colored SUV that was traveling on Victor II Blvd. Another off duty officer was able to follow the vehicle until patrol officers could arrive in the area. Officers observed the vehicle in the area of Federal Ave. A stop was initiated and Arturo Garcia was identified as the operator of the vehicle. Garcia was found to be in an intoxicated state.  Reports indicate that Garcia was found to be in possession of a firearm that was reported stolen out of another jurisdiction. During the investigation it was learned that Garcia picked up another subject at a local bar in the area of Victor II Blvd. Garcia gave this subject the firearm and attempted to have him fire it out the window of the vehicle. The subject refused at which time Garcia began firing the firearm. Garcia was also found not to possess a valid Louisiana Driver’s License. Garcia was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail for Chemical Test. Upon arrival to the Morgan City Jail Garcia refused to submit to chemical test. It was also learned that Garcia has had been arrested for driving while intoxicated offenses two separate times. Garcia was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Sidney L. Wainwright, 21 years of age, address: Third St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 09/16/2017 @ 8:00 a.m.

Charges: Simple Battery

Janna Gilmore, 31 years of age, address: Arcemont Ln. Morgan City, La., arrested on 09/16/2017 @ 8:00 a.m.

Correctional Officers with the Morgan City Police Department responded to the cell block in the Morgan City Jail in regards to a disturbance.  According to reports, Sidney L. Wainwright and Janna Gilmore were involved in an altercation where they  began to strike each other. Wainwright and Gilmore were arrested and booked into the Morgan City Jail where they were incarcerated.

Jeremy Hebert, 26 years of age, address: Ditch Ave. Morgan City, La., arrested on 09/16/2017 @ 5:54 p.m.

Charges: Domestic Abuse Battery

Yakendra Wallace, 27 years of age, address: Leona St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 09/16/2017 @ 5:54 p.m.

Patrol officers responded to a residence in the area of Ditch Ave. in regards to a disturbance. According to reports, officers arrived and Yakendra Wallace and Jeremy Hebert were identified as the subjects involved in the altercation. Wallace and Hebert allegedly struck each other during the altercation. Wallace and Hebert were arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail. Upon arrival to the Morgan City Jail they were booked and incarcerated.

Brennan G. Giandelone, 18 years of age, address: Mercury St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 09/16/2017 @ 11:26 p.m.

Charges: Possession of Marijuana W/I/T/D
                 Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
                 Transaction involving Proceeds from CDS Activity

Patrol officers observed a vehicle fail to stop at a traffic control in the area of LA 182. A stop was initiated and according to reports, officers detected a strong odor of marijuana emitting from a vehicle. Brennan G. Giandelone was identified as passenger in the vehicle. Giandelone was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana. Evidence was uncovered that the illicit drugs were destined to be sold. Giandelone found to be in possession of over $600 dollars of U.S. Currency which is believed to be derived from the sale of illicit drugs. Giandelone was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Irvin A. Taylor, 28 years of age, address: McKennely St. Houma, La., arrested on 09/17/2017 @ 9:52 a.m.

Charges: Driving under Suspension
                 Following Vehicles Too Close

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of US 90 following another vehicle too close. A stop was initiated and Irvin A. Taylor was identified as the operator of the vehicle. Taylor’s Louisiana Driver’s License was found to be under suspension. Taylor was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Ciara M. Leonard, 29 years of age, address: Hwy 402 Napoleonville, La., arrested on 09/17/2017 @ 5:00 p.m.

Charges: Simple Battery

Sarah N. Pierce, 23 years of age, address: Lawson Austin, Tx., arrested on 09/17/2017 @ 5:00 p.m.

Charges: Simple Battery

Correctional Officers responded to the cell block in the Morgan City Jail in regards to a disturbance. According to reports, Leonard and Pierce allegedly struck each other during the altercation. Leonard and Pierce were arrested and booked into the Morgan City Jail where they were incarcerated.

Demetrius C. Paul, 40 years of age, address: Gloria Dr. Baton Rouge, La., arrested on 09/18/2017 @ 2:42 a.m.

Charges: Driving While Intoxicated 2nd Offense
                 Improper Lane Usage

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of MLK Blvd. in an erratic manner swerving from lane to lane. A stop was initiated and Demetrius C. Paul was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports, Paul was found to be in an intoxicated state. Paul refused to conduct Standardized Field Sobriety Test. Paul was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail for Chemical Test. Once at the Morgan City Jail Paul submitted to chemical test which resulted in .162g% blood alcohol content. Records indicated that Paul had been arrested for Driving While Intoxicated once prior to this incident. Paul was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.
