The following persons were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning 06/26/2014:

Roy W. Kenwood, 36 years of age, Address-Bayou Vista, La. was arrested on 06/26/2014 @ 9:15pm

Charge: Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated; Taking Contraband to/from Penal Institution; Possession of Marijuana

     Officers were dispatched to a Highway 182 business in regards to an tractor trailer truck which was parked in the parking lot in front of the business.  They advised that the driver was reving the engine of the truck.  Officers arrived and located the truck and identified the driver as Roy Kenwood.  Kenwood exhibited signs of impairment but refused the standardized field sobriety test.  Kenwood was placed under arrest.  After being transported to the Morgan City Police Department, Kenwood was given an opportunity to submit a proper sample for the Intoxilyzer 5000 test in which he also refused.  He was escorted to the booking area and upon removing his personal property, he was observed attempting to discard a celophane bag which contained suspected marijuana which he had concealed in his wallet.  The item was recovered and Roy Kenwood was additionally charged.  He was booked and incarcerated.

Keenze Howard, 49 years of age, Address-Front St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 06/24/2014 @ 9:30am

Charge: Theft Under $500.00

     Officers were dispatched to a Highway 182 business in regards to a theft.  Officers arrived and were advised by management at the location that they had become aware of an employee who had committed a theft from a customer's vehicle.  During the investigation, Keenze Howard was identified as the suspect and admitted to officers that he had committed the theft of a radar detector from a customer's vehicle which was valued at less than $500.00.  The subject, Howard was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and released after posting a cash bond. 

Angela M. Curtis, 27 years of age, Address-Sanders St. Franklin, La. was arrested on 06/24/2014 @ 11:28am

Charge: Warrant: Probation Violation; Warrant: Failure to Appear for Probation Fees; Hold for St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Department 

Angela Curtis was transported to the Morgan City Police Department jail facility to be housed for the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Department.  An active warrant for the Morgan City Police Department was located.  Curtis was booked on the warrant and incarcerated in the Morgan City Police Department jail where she remains incarcerated. 

Demarcus N. Keal, 35 years of age, Address-Kerry St. Charenton, La. was arrested on 06/24/2014 @ 4:44pm

Charge: Warrant: Improper Lane Usage; Warrant: Driving Under Suspension

Patrolling officers observed a vehicle being driven in an erratic manner near Federal Ave. and Belanger St. and stopped the vehicle to investigate.  The driver of the vehicle, Demarcus Keal was discovered to be wanted on outstanding warrants for the Morgan City Police Department.  He was arrested on those warrants and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated. 

Crystal G. Johnson, 35 years of age, Address-Fifth St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 06/24/2014 @ 6:37pm

Charge: Warrant: Theft of Goods 

     A patrolling officer located Crystal Johnson near Highway 182 and Myrtle St. and arrested Johnson on an oustanding warrant for theft of goods which was dated May 2014.  Johnson was accused of taking goods from a local business valued at less than $100.00.  She was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and released after posting a cash bond. 

Christopher C. Adams, 40 years of age, Address-Sixth St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 06/24/2014 @ 9:09pm

Charge: Possession of Schedule III CDS-Hydrocodone; Warrant: St. Mary Parish S.O.-Criminal Neglect of Family (2 Counts)

     A patrolling officer observed a suspicious subject in the area of Duke St. and observed what appeared to be a hand to hand transaction with another.  The officer was able to detain one of the subjects and identified him as Christopher Adams.  Adams attempted to remove an item from his pocket as officers approached and was detained.  He was found to be in possession of (6) six pills of Hydrocodone, a controlled dangerous substance on his person.  Adams was also found to be wanted on outstanding warrants for the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Department.  He was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated. 

Donald Jackson, 32 years of age, Address-Highway 182 Morgan City, La. was arrested on 06/24/2014 @ 9:48pm

Charge: Entry on Premises after being Forbid

     A patrolling officer observed a disturbance at a Highway 182 apartment complex and stopped to investigate.  One subject involved was identified as Donald Jackson. According to management, Jackson was prohibited and aware that he was not to enter onto the property.  Jackson, who appeard intoxicated was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated. 

Don M. Fryou, 26 years of age, Address-Bayou Black, Gibson, La. was arrested on 06/25/2014 @ 12:07am

Charge: Possession of Schedule I CDs-Marijuana (2nd Offense); Speeding 68/60 zone; Operating a Vehicle with a Suspended Driver's License

     A patrolling officers observed a speeding vehicle on U.S. Highway 90 and was able to clock the vehicle at 68mph in a 60 mph zone.  The officer stopped the vehicle to investigate.  During the stop, the driver, Don Fryou was found to be operating a vehicle with a suspended drivers license.  He was also found to be in possession of a Schedule I CDS-Marijuana.  He was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

Charge: Appearing in Public Intoxicated

     Officers were dispatched to a Highway 182 motel in regards to a subject causing a disturbance.  Officers arrived and located Jerry Mctaggart who was in an impaired condition.  Mctaggart, who continued to cause a disturbance after officers arrived, using profane language was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated. 

Randall M. Lejeune, 52 years of age, Address-Southeast Blvd. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 06/20/2014 @ 9:23am

Charge: Warrant: St. Mary Parish-Theft of Goods

Officers received a complaint of a subject sleeping in his vehicle near Lake End Park and arrived to locate the subject, Randall Lejuene.  Lejuene was found to be wanted on an outstanding warrant for the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Department and was arrested.  He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated. 

Peter E. Grogan Jr., 36 years of age, Address-Railroad Ave. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 06/20/2014 @ 6:53pm

Charge: Warrant: Simple Burglary

     Detectives with the Morgan City Police Department began an investigation into a theft which was reported to the Morgan City Police Department on June 15, 2014 which had taken place on the Mr. Charlie Rig Museum.  In that complaint, a theft of an electronic tablet was reported. Investigators were able to determine through their investigation that a male subject, later identified as Peter Grogan had illegally entered onto the property, entering the living quarters at that location.  The subject reportedly committed the theft and then left the property.  Investigators were able to secure an arrest warrant for Grogan.  He was located on Railroad Ave. in Morgan City where he was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated. 

Jerry L. Mctaggart, 44 years of age, Address-Minden, La. was arrested on 06/21/2014 @ 6:20am

Charge: Appearing in Public Intoxicated

     Officers received a complaint of an intoxicated subject sleeping outside a Highway 182 business.  Officers arrived and located Mctaggart in an impaired condition.  He was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

Charge: Warrant: Issuing Worthless Checks

     Mary Nelson was located on Belanger St. and placed under arrest on an outstanding 1995 warrant for Issuing Worthless Checks.  She was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and released after posting a cash bond.

     Officers were dispatched to the Front St. area regarding a suspicious subject. Officers arrived and located Robert Mulligan in an impaired condition.  He was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

Charge: Domestic Abuse Battery

Officers received a complaint of a domestic disturbance at a Bowman St. residence and arrived to investigate.  During the investigation, it is alleged that Jessica Burgess and Travis Burgess became involved in an argument which turned into a physical altercation.  Both subjects were arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where they were booked andincarcerated.

Charge: Vehicular Trespassing

     Officers received a complaint of a subject looking into vehicles in the parking lot of a Highway 182 pharmacy.  Officers were advised that the subject, identified as Joseph Price had approached the vehicle and began to lean onto the vehicle to peer into the windows.  The complainant advised that the subject then hurried away as the complainant locked the doors of the vehicle.  Price was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

Charge: Driving While Intoxicated; Improper Turning

     A patrolling officer observed a vehicle make an improper turn at the intersection of Highway 182 and Ditch Ave. and stopped the vehicle to investigate.  Upon coming into contact with the driver, Sandy Percle, it was determined that the subject appeared impaired.  Percle was given an opportunity to perform a field sobriety test in which he did poorly on.  Percle was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he submitted to an Intoxilyzer 5000 test which indicated a blood alcohol concentration of .203g%.  The subject was booked and incarcerated. 

Jairo Molina Jr., 28 years of age, Address-Louisa St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 06/22/2014 @ 9:25pm

Charge: Warrant: Probation Violation-Resisting an Officer; Warrant: Failure to Pay Fine-Probation Violation

Jairo Molina Jr. was located at the corner of Hilda St. and Sixth St. in Morgan City and placed under arrest on outstanding warrants for the Morgan City Police Department.  He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

Michael L. Gaines, 56 years of age, Address-Shannon St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 06/25/2014 @ 2:59pm

Charge: Operating a Vehicle while Intoxicated-2nd Offense; Careless Operation with an Accident; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; Operating a Vehicle with a Suspended Drivers License; No Motor Vehicle Insurance; Open Container of Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle

Officers responded to a vehicle crash on U.S. Highwya 90 near Martin Luther King Jr. exit and located a vehicle which had collided with the barrier.  The driver, Michael Gaines was located and found to be in an impaired condition.  Gaines refused a field sobriety test.  Gaines was found to be operating a vehicle with a suspended drivers license, no insurance and found to be in possession of several open containers of alcoholic beverage in his vehicle. He was also found to be in possession of a pipe commonly used to consume illegal narcotics.  Gaines was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he refused the intoxilyzer 5000 test.  He was booked and incarcerated.  The accident resulted in no injuries.

Clifton Brown, 30 years of age, Address-Franklin St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 06/25/2014 @ 5:33pm

Charge: Possession of Marijuana 

     A Detective with the Narcotics Division of the Morgan City Police Department  along with an agen with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office Narcotics Division observed a vehicle being driven in an erratic manner on Highway 182 in Morgan City and stopped the vehicle to investigate.  The driver of the vehicle was detained and a passener identified as Clifton Brown.  During the encounter, a celophane bag which contained suspected marijuana was observed in the vehicle.  It was seized by investigators.  The passenger, Clifton Brown admitted to officers of the possession of the controlled substance.  He was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

Charge: Operating a Vehicle with a Suspended Drivers License; Stop Sign Violation; Warrant: Lafayette Parish-Failure to Appear for Arraignment

     A patrolling officer observed a vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign at Freret and Fifth St. and stopped the vehicle to investigte.  The driver, Megan Fontenot was found to be operating a vehicle with a suspended drivers license.  She was also found to be wanted on an outstanding warrant for Lafayette Parish authorities.  She was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated.

Justin Scarbrough was transported from LEC in Centerville, La. to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked on an outstanding warrant for the Morgan City Police Department.  He was booked and incarcerated.

Demarcus Holly was located on Egle St. in Morgan City by a patrolling officer and placed under arrest on an outstanding warrant for the Morgan City Police Department.  Holly was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

     A patrolling officer observed a suspicious subject in the area of Front St. and Freret St. and stopped to investigate.  The subject, identified as Jacob Salley was found to be wanted on several outstanding warrants for the Morgan City Police Department.  Salley was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

     A patrolling officer observed a suspicious subject in the area of S. Everette in Morgan City and stopped the subject to investigate.  The subject, Carla Johnsonw as found to be wanted on outstanding warrants.  He was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

A patrolling officer observed a vehicle parked in the area of Fourth St. and Greenwood St. and stopped to investigate.  The driver of the vehicle, Robbin Vining was identified and appeared to be impaired and nervous.  During the encounter Vining was found to possess items of drug paraphernalia and synthetic cannabinoids.  Vining was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated.

Charges: Attempted False Acquisition of a Controlled Dangerous Substance

     Officers were dispatched to a Morgan City pharmacy after employees became suspicious of a subject attempting to acquire a controlled dangerous substance, Roxicodone, with a questionable prescription.  Officers arrived and locted the subject, Jonathan Booth.  Upon further investgation, it was determined that the subject was attempting to acquire the drug using a fraudulent prescription. Booth was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

Charge: Possession of Marijuana (Felony-4th Offense); Speeding 58mph/45mph zone

     A patrolling officer observed a speeding vehicle traveling on Highway 182 and clocked the vehicle at 58mph in a 45 mph zone.  The officer stopped the vehicle and identified the driver as Dantrell Garrett.  Garrett was in the accompany of a female, Melanie Francis.  During the stop, officers discovered that the subjects were in possession of marijuana, a controlled substance.  Officers also determined that the passenger, Francis was wanted on an outstanding warrant for the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Department.  Both subjects were arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where they were booked and incarcerated. 

Corey Chapman, 49 years of age, Address-Verdun Lane Franklin, La. was arrested on 06/29/2014 @ 1:50pm

Charge: Simple Burglary; Resisting an Officer

Officers were dispatched to an Oak St. residence regarding a subject, Corey Chapman who had entered onto the property without permission.  Officers arrived and observed Chapman run from the residence and enter into a rear building.  The subject, Chapman then attempted to remove a table saw through the rear window of the building.  Chapman was detained for further investigation and immediately became combative and had to be restrained.  According to the victim, Chapman had no permission nor right to enter onto the property nor remove items from the building.  He was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

Louis Bourque was located at the Law Enforcment Center in Centerville, La. and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated on outstanding warrants.  

Stephen Bias, 49 years of age, Address-Egle St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 06/20/2014 @ 1:28am

Charge: Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Officers patrolling the area of Egle St. in Morgan City during the early morning hours came into contact with a male subject, Stephen Bias.  Bias was found to be in possession of a pipe commonly used to consume illegal narcotics on his person.  Bias was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.
