Charge: Warrant: Resisting an Officer

Lee Pierce was located in the parking lot of the Morgan City Police Department and arrested on an oustanding warrant.  He was booked and incarcerated into the Morgan City Police Department jail facility. 

Bryan K. Maize, 34 years of age, Address-Sixth St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 03/26/2014 @ 11:36am

Charge: Resisting an Officer; Warrant: Attempted unauthorized Entry into an Inhabited Dwelling; Warrant: Failure to Pay Fine-Littering; Warrant: Failure to Pay Restitution-Contempt of Court

Officers traveled to the Brownell Homes area to locate Bryan Maize who was wanted on outstanding warrants stemming from an incident from February 2014 in which Maize was accused of attempting to enter a residence.  Maize was also wanted on two other outstanding warrants for the City Court of Morgan City.  The officers went to a Cardinal St. residence and attempted to locate Maize when he made an attempt to escape through a bedroom window.  Officers pursued Maize and captured him a short distance later at which time he was physically subdued, placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

Charge: Attempted False Acquisition of a Schedule II CDS-Roxicodone

Officers were dispatched to a Seventh St. pharmacy in regards to a forged prescription.  When officers arrived they were advised that a male and female subject came into the pharmacy and attempted to use forged presctiptions to obtain Roxicodone, a Schedule II CDS.  As officers were investigating, the subjects returned to the pharmacy and were detained.  The subjects, Willie Coleman and Stella Miller admitted to officers that they traveled from the Baton Rouge area in order to obtain the drug using the forged documents.  Willie Coleman was also found to possess suspected marijuana in his possession. Both were arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where they were booked and incarcerated. 

Bennie A. Charles, 28 years of age, Address-Arizona St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 03/26/2014 @ 5:50pm

Charge: Warrant: Failure to Pay Probation Fee; Warrant: Probation Violation

A patrolling officer located Bennie Charles at the intersection of Headland St. and Railroad Ave. and placed him under arrest on outstanding warrants for the Morgan City Police Department.  He was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail facility where he was booked and incarcerated.

Charge: Warrant: Failure to Return Leased Merchandise; Warrant: Driving Under Revocation; Warrant: Careless Operation

Amy Ponce-Mata came to the Morgan City Police Department for other services and it was discovered that she was a wanted person on outstanding warrants for the Morgan City Police Department.  She was arrested, booked and later released after posting a cash bond. 

Luis E. Corrales-Miranda, 29 years of age, Address-Morgan City, La. was arrested on 03/24/2014 @ 7:27am

Charge: No Drivers License; Failure to Yield with Accident

Officers responded to a vehicle crash near the intersection of Grizzaffi St. and Highway 182.  A driver involved in the accident was identified as Luis Corrales-Miranda who was found to be operating a vehicle without a valid drivers license.  It was discovered in the accident that he failed to yield to traffic resulting in the accident.  He was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

Charge: Resisting an Officer

     Officers were dispatched to the area of Brashear Avenue in regards to a vehicle crash.  While enroute, they were advised that an off duty Morgan City officer had witnessed the crash and that a vehicle involved had left the scene and was being followed by the off-duty officer.  The vehicle traveled to a residence on Cypress St. and the vehicle's occupants were observed running into a residence.  Officers went to the residence and spoke with the female inside, Alexis Crews who provided officers with false statements in an apparent attempt to hide the persons involved.  It was discovered that the subjects, as the female was speaking with officers ran from the rear of the residence.  They were later located after returning to the scene.  Dylon Challette was identified as the driver of the vehicle and was subsequently arrested.  Crews, who according to reports attempted to impede officers investigation by false statements and concealment of the persons involved was also arrested.  Both were transported to the Morgan City Police Department where they were booked and incarcerated. 

Jared J. Helms, 27 years of age, Address-Bayou Vista, La. was arrested on 03/25/2014 @ 12:43am

Charge: Theft: Value $8.83

Officers were dispatched to a Highway 182 restaurant in regards to a subject refusing to pay for food.  The officers arrived and were advised that a male subject ordered a meal, consumed the meal and then left the premises refusing to pay for the meal.  Restaurant staff attempted to stop the subject but the subject refused, driving away in a vehicle.  The staff provided officers with a description of the vehicle.  The subject was located at a Bayou Vista address by St. Mary Sheriffs Officers.  He was returned ot the scene, identified and placed under arrest for the theft.  He was booked and incarcerated.  He was later released after posting a cash bond. 

Miles P. Laughlin, 48 years of age, Address-Morgan City, La. was arrested on 03/25/2014 @ 7:13am

Charge: Warrant: Simple Battery (involving juvenile)

A patrolling officer located Mile Laughlin near the corner of Belanger St. and Federal Avenue and placed him under arrest on outstanding warrants for an incident which was alleged on February 24, 2014 in which Laughlin was accused of striking a juvenile during an altercation.  He was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

Charge: Warrant: Seat Belt Violation

     Officers responded to a vehicle crash near the intersection of Victor II Blvd. and Brashear Ave. and learned the an occupant of a vehicle involved, Teresa Soto was wanted on an outstanding warrant.  She was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and released after posting a cash bond. 

Sonya E. Mclemore, 24 years of age, Address-Missy Lane Morgan City, La. was arrested on 03/17/2014 @ 10:30am

Charge: Simple Battery

Sonya Mclemore, who was being housed in the Morgan City Jail facility was arrested and booked for attacking a fellow inmate.  She was restrained and placed under arrest.  She was booked and reincarcerated.  There were no injuries in the incident.

Charge: Warrant: Failure to Appear-Restitution Hearing

Michael Pociecha was booked into the Morgan City Jail facility on an outstanding warrant after he turned himself in to officers at the facility.  He was booked and remains incarcerated. 

Candice N. Norman, 24 years of age, Address-Bayou Lourse, La. was arrested on 03/17/2014 @ 3:27pm

Charge: Illegal Possession of Stolen Things; Switched License Plate; Failure to Obtain Vehicle Registration; No Liability Insurance; Failure to Pay License Fee

A patrolling officer was flagged down by a motorist who pointed out a vehicle whos driver was operating their vehicle in a reckless manner, disregarding a stop signal at the intersection near Hwy 182 and Myrtle St.  The officer located the vehicle and it's driver, identified as Candice Norman in the area of Florence St. and Highway 182.  The vehicle displayed a Florida License Plate which was reported as a stolen item from Florida.  It was determined that he driver, Norman had switched the license plate of the vehicle utilizing the stolen license plate.  The driver, Norman was detained.  She was found to be operating a vehicle without a proper drivers license nor liability insurance.  She was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated. 

Bradley J. Brecheen, 26 years of age, Address-Glenwood St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 03/17/2014 @ 8:26pm

Charge: Speeding 51mph/35mph zone; Operating a Vehicle with a Suspended Drivers License; Warrant: Speeding; Warrant: Driving Under Suspension

A patrolling officer in the area of Highway 182 observed a vehicle speeding in the area of Myrtle Street and clocked the vehicle at 51mph in a 35 mph zone.  The officer detained the driver, Bradley Brechenn and discovered that Brecheen was operating a vehicle with a suspended drivers license.  It was also learned that the driver, Brecheen was wanted on outstanding warrants for failure to appear in court on the same offenses which were alleged at an earlier date.  He was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated. He wa released after posting a cash bond.

Charge: Possession of Schedule I CDS-Synthetic Marijuana; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; Warrant: Allowing Dogs to Roam; Warrant: Resisting by Flight; Warrant: Reckless Operation of a Moving Vehicle; Warrant: Speeding over 35mph

Narcotics officers with the Morgan City Police Department obserrved a vehicle being driven in an erratic manner near the intersection of La. Hwy 70 and Fig St. and stopped the vehicle to investigate.  The driver of the vehicle was identified as Shade Suire.  Suire, who according to reports appeared extremely nervous during the encounter.  He was found to possess a substance belieived to be marijuana, a controlled dangerous substance.  As officers detained Suire, the several occupants of the vehicle were detained as well.  Narcotics officers located a substance beleived to be synthetic marijuana, a controlled dangerous substance.  A passenger, Dakata Daigle was found to have three cellophane bags of suspected marijuana along with items of paraphernalia hidden in his groin area.  Another passenger, George Cain was found to be in possession of (6)six packages of suspected synthetic marijuana inside his pockets.  Passenger Travis Cain was found to possess (3) packages of synthetic marijuana hidden in his groin area. Passenger Sabrina Voisin was also found to possess suspected marijuana and items of paraphernalia.  Upon learning of Sabrina Voisin's arrest, La. Department of Probation and Parole placed a detainer on Ms. Voisin for violating the terms of her probation.  A passenger, Joseph Acosta who was also found to be in possession of suspected synthetic marijuana and paraphernalia was also found to be wanted on several outstanding warrants for the Morgan City Police Department and was arrested.  All six subjects were transported to the Morgan City Police Department where they were booked and incarcerated.

Robert W. Holley, 41 years old, Address-League City, Texas was arrested on 03/26/2014 @ 3:18am

Charge: Urinating in Public; Appearing in Public Intoxicated; Hold for Terrebone Parish-Failure to Appear

Officers were dispatched to the area of Highway 182 and Cottonwood St. for a suspicious subject.  Officers arrived and observed a male subject, unrinating in the parking lot of a business.  The subject was detained and found to be in an intoxicated condition.  The suspect, Robert Holley was also found to be wanted on an outstanding warrant for Terrebone Parish.  He was arrested, booked and incarcerated.

Charge: Speeding; Possession of Marijuana; Possession of Schedule III CDS-Carisoprodol

A patrolling officer observed a vehicle speeding on Federal Avenue and Onstead St. and stopped the vehicle to investigate.  Upon coming into contact with the driver, Kesley Francois, the driver was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana.  It was recovered by the officer and Francois was placed under arrest.  Upon further investigation, Francois was found to be in possession of a Schedule III CDS-Carisoprodol and additionally charged.  She was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated.

Charge: Cruelty to Animals

     The Morgan City Police Department was dispatched to a Sixth St. residence in regards to an injured animal.  When officers arrived, they learned that the animals owner, Tyrone Thomas owned the dog which had a rubber type band tied around the animals tale which caused infection and injury to the animal.  The animal was seized by the animal control officer and after being evaluated, it was learned that the dogs tail would have to be amputated.  The owner of the animal, Tyrone Thomas was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated. He as released after posting a cash bond.

Alton J. Castille, 38 years of age, Address-Duke St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 03/16/2014 @ 3:53pm.

Charge: Warrant: No Drivers License; Warrant: Loud Music

     Alton Castille was located at a Duke St. residence by officers and placed under arrest on outstanding warrants for the Morgan City Police Department.  He was transported to the Morgan City Police Jail facility where he was booked and incarcerated.
