Arrest Report 02/27/2014

The following person(s) were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning 02/26/2014:

 

Barron F. Kenner, 40 years of age, Address-First St. Morgan City, Louisiana was arrested on 02/26/2014 @ 11:12am

Charge: Warrant: Attempted 2nd Degree Murder; Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon; Possession of a Firearm in a Firearm Free Zone

 Barron Kenner was booked into the Morgan City Jail facility on outstanding warrants for a shooting which occurred in the area of Maitland Elementary School on October 21, 2013.  Kenner was alleged to have been involved in the shooting which resulted in two subjects being wounded.  Two  other suspects in the case, Donald Brown and Eric Charles had already been arrested and charged in the case.  Kenner had been featured in the area's "Most Wanted" and had been at large since the incident.  Detectives with the Morgan City Police Department traveled to Terrebone Parish with information regarding Kenner's whereabouts.  Kenner was located in the Houma area and placed under arrest by Terrebone Parish Sheriff's Department until he could be transported to Morgan City Police Department.  He remains incarcerated with a bond of $175,000.00. 

 

Hailey E. Verdin, 24 years of age, Address-Houma, La. was arrested on 02/26/2014 @ 7:37pm

Charge: Operating a Vehicle with a Suspended Drivers License; Stop Sign Violation; Child Passenger Restraint Violation

     

     A patrolling officer observed a vehicle fail to negotiate a stop sign in the area of Myrtle St. and Railroad Ave.  The vehicle contained children that were not properly restrained.  The driver of the vehicle, Hailey Verdin was found to be operating a vehicle with a suspended drivers license.  She was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated.
