MCPD Arrest Report 11/06/2017

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 72-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 102 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result beginning on 11/03/2017:

Taylor Murphy, 22 years of age, address: Green Leaf Blvd Morgan City, La., arrested on 11/03/2017 @ 10:27 p.m.

Charges: Driving under Suspension
                 Child Restraint Required

Investigators with the Morgan City Police Department Detectives Division were at a local business in the area of LA 182 conducting an investigation when they observed a vehicle enter the property of the business with a small toddler sitting on the lap of a passenger. A stop was initiated and Taylor Murphy was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports, Murphy’s Louisiana Driver’s License was found to be under suspension. Taylor was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

Johnny Giroir, 24 years of age, address: Stacy St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 11/03/2017 @ 6:25 p.m.

Charges: Unauthorized Entry of an Inhabited Dwelling
                 Simple Battery

Patrol officers responded to a residence in the area of St. Claire St. in regards to a disturbance. According to reports, officers arrived and Johnny Giroir was identified as one of the subjects involved. Allegedly Giroir entered the residence of the victim and committed a battery on them. Giroir was located in the area a short time later at which time evidence was uncovered linking him to the crime. Giroir was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Gary L. Davis, 32 years of age, address: Hwy 182 Morgan City, La., arrested on 11/03/2017 @ 8:15 p.m.

Charges: Warrant: Probation Violation

Gary L. Davis was located and arrested at the Morgan City Police Department on an active arrest warrant held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Davis was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Charleston J. Grogan, 22 years of age, address: Wren St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 11/03/20174 @ 8:15 p.m.

Charges: Warrant: Contempt of Court
                 Warrant: F.T.A. to Pay Fine on 11/15/2016 (2 Counts)

Charleston J. Grogan was located and arrested at the Morgan City Police Department on active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Grogan was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Sean L. Finister, 29 years of age, address: Mars St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 11/03/2017 @ 9:04 p.m.

Charges: Driving while Intoxicated 1st Offense
                 Possession of an Open Alcoholic Beverage in a motor vehicle
                 Carless Operator of a Motor Vehicle.

Patrol officers responded to the area of LA 182 in regards to a crash. According to reports, officers arrived and Sean L. Finister was found to be the operator of one of the vehicles involved. Finister was found to be in an intoxicated state. Finister performed poorly on Standardized Field Sobriety Test. Evidence was uncovered placing Finister at fault in the crash. Finister was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail for Chemical Testing which he failed to provide a proper sample to. Finister was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Kyle Q. Rhett, 26 years of age, address: General McArthur St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 11/04/2017 @ 8:37 a.m.

Charges: Warrant: F.T.A. to Pay Fine on 10/24/2017 (7 Counts)

Kyle Q. Rhett was located and arrested in the area of Wren St. on active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Rhett was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Jerry Anslum, 49 years of age, address: Second St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 11/04/2017 @ 4:26 p.m.

Charges: Disturbing the Peace Intoxicated

Patrol officers responded to a local business in the area of Railroad Ave. in regards to a disturbance. According to reports, officers arrived and Jerry Anslum was identified as the subject involved. Anslum was found to be in an intoxicated state. Anslum was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Tyler A. Palmature, 20 years of age, address: Clements St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 11/04/2017 @ 9:00 p.m.

Charges: Driving under Suspension
                 Improper Lighting

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of Federal Ave. with only one operable head light. A stop was initiated and Tyler Palmature was identified as the operator of the vehicle. Palmature’s Louisiana Driver’s License was found to be under suspension. Palmature was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Sergio Cerritos-Calderon, 25 years of age, address: Chirpy’s Ln. Morgan City, La., arrested on 11/04/2017 @ 9:59 a.m.

Charges: Driving under Suspension
                 Disregard of Traffic Controls

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of LA 182 fail to stop at a red light. A stop was initiated and Sergio Cerritos-Calderon was identified as the operator of the vehicle. Cerritos-Calderon’s Louisiana Driver’s License was found to be under suspension. Cerritos-Calderon was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

 John A. Henry, 38 years of age, address: Vivian St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 11/04/2017 @ 12:14 a.m.

Charges: Driving under Suspension
                 Improper Lighting

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of Wise St. without proper lighting required. A stop was initiated and John A. Henry was identified as the operator of the vehicle. Henry’s Louisiana Driver’s License was found to be under suspension. Henry was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Alfredo Ortiz, 25 years of age, address: Boston Dr. New Orleans, La., arrested on 11/05/2017 @ 1:14 a.m.

Charges: Disturbing the Peace Intoxicated
                 Resisting an Officer
                 Theft under $1,000

An officer working a security detail at a local business in the area of LA 182 observed a subject flee the business with items failing to pay for them. The officer pursued the subject and apprehended him at which time Alfredo Ortiz was identified as the subject involved. According to reports, Ortiz was found to be in an intoxicated state. Ortiz was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Alexis J. Melendez-Davilia, 30 years of age, address: Robin St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 11/05/2017 @ 1:17 p.m.

Charges: Domestic Battery Abuse
                 Domestic Battery Abuse-Child Endangerment Law
                 Disturbing the Peace Intoxicated

Patrol officers responded to the area of Robin St. in regards to a disturbance. According to reports, officers arrived and Alexis J. Melendez-Davilia was identified as one of the subjects involved. Allegedly Melendez-Davilia committed batteries on the victims during an argument. This incident had taken place in the presence of a small juvenile. Melendez-Davilia was found to be in an intoxicated state. Melendez-Davilia was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Clifton Martin, 54 years of age, address: S. Everett St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 11/05/2017 @ 6:01 p.m.

Charges: Driving while Intoxicated 1st Offense
                 Possession of an Open Alcoholic Beverage in a motor vehicle
                 Domestic Battery Abuse

Patrol officers responded to the area of Front St. in regards to a disturbance. According to reports, officers arrived and Clifton Martin was identified as one of the subjects involved. Allegedly Martin committed a battery on the victim during the argument. Martin fled the scene prior to officers arrival. A short time later patrol officers responded back to the residence due to Martin returning. Officer arrived and reports indicate that Martin was located. Martin was found to be in an intoxicated state and allegedly admitted to he was driving his vehicle prior to officers arrival. The vehicle Martin was operating was found to have several open containers of alcoholic beverages. Martin performed poorly on Standardized Field Sobriety Test. Martin was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail for Chemical Test. Martin submitted to Chemical Test which resulted in .259g% blood alcohol content. Martin was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

David A. Turner, 26 years of age, address: Monarch St. Houma, La., arrested on 11/05/2017 @ 10:03 p.m.

Charges: Obstructing Public Passages

Patrol officers responded to the area of Brashear Ave. in regards to a subject creating traffic hazards with motorist in the area. According to reports, officers arrived and David A. Turner was identified as the subject involved. Reports indicate that this was the fifth time officers had dealings with Turner on other incidents in a 24-hour period. Turner was observed in the middle of the roadway blocking traffic. Turner was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Marvin Garcia 11062017
Marvin Gonzales-Garcia, 26 years of age, address: Louisa St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 11/05/2017 @ 10:41 p.m.

Charges: Driving while Intoxicated 3rd Offense
                 Careless Operation of a Motor Vehicle
                 No Driver’s License

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of Brashear Ave. in an erratic manner. A stop was initiated and Marvin Gonzales-Garcia was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports, Gonzales-Garcia was found to be in an intoxicated state. Gonzales-Garcia performed poorly on Standardized Field Sobriety Test. It was also found that Gonzales-Garcia did not possess a valid Louisiana Driver’s License. Gonzales-Garcia was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail for Chemical Test. Gonzales-Garcia submitted to Chemical Test which resulted in .132g% blood alcohol content. During a history check, it was also found that Gonzales-Garcia had been charged with Driving While Intoxicated offenses on two separate occasions. Gonzales-Garcia was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.
