MCPD Arrest Report 11/17/2017
Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 27 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result beginning on 11/16/2017:
Antoine O. Randle, 32 years of age, Address- Wren St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 11/16/2017 @ 2:00 pm.
Charge: Warrant-Failure to Pay Fines 2cts
Warrant- Failure to Pay Probation Fee
Antoine Randle was placed under arrest in the City Court of Morgan City for active warrants held for the 6th Ward City Court. Randle was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
Destiny A. Dinger, 29 years of age, Address-Franklin St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 11/16/2017 @ 3:52 pm.
Charge: Improper Lane Usage

Bethany N. Mecom, 25 years of age, Address- Lucy St. Patterson, La. was arrested on 11/16/2017 @ 3:52 pm.
Charge: Warrant-Failure to Appear for Driving Under Suspension
An officer patrolling US Hwy 90 East, observed a vehicle weaving in and out the lane of travel. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was identified as Destiny Dinger. A computer check revealed that Dinger’s driver’s license was suspended. The passenger of the vehicle, Bethany Mecom was found to have an active warrant for the 16th Judicial District Court. Both Dinger and Mecom were placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Elaine M. LeBlanc, 38 years of age, Address- Gus St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 11/16/2017 @ 6:50 pm.
Charge- Possession of Sch II CDS (Methamphetamine) with Intent to Distribute
Improper Lane Usage
Detectives with the Morgan City Police Department Narcotics Division with the assistance of the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotic Division conducted a traffic stop on US Hwy 90. The driver was identified as Elaine LeBlanc. During the course of the investigation, officers located suspected methamphetamine in LeBlanc’s possession, which was packaged for sale. LeBlanc was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Jerell A. Jones, 26 years of age, Address- Red Cypress Rd. Patterson, La. was arrested on 11/16/2017 @ 8:25 pm.
Charge: Driving Under Suspension
A patrol officer observed Jerell Jones driving a vehicle in the area of Hwy 182 and Cottonwood St. The officer had knowledge of Jones’ driver’s license being suspended. A traffic stop was conducted and a computer check confirmed that Jones’ driver’s license was under suspension. Jones was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Shawn M. Taylor, 39 years of age, Address- River Rd. Berwick, La. was arrested on 11/17/2017 @ 2:06 am.
Charge: Driving While Intoxicated- 2nd Offense

Possession of Alcoholic Beverages in Motor Vehicle
A patrol officer in the area of Hwy 182 near Seventh St. observed a vehicle weaving in and out the lane of travel. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was identified as Shawn Taylor. According to reports, Taylor appeared intoxicated. Taylor was asked to perform the Standardized Field Sobriety Test, in which he performed poorly. A computer check revealed that Taylor’s driver’s license was under suspension. Taylor was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department. Once at the police department, Taylor was asked to submit to the chemical test for intoxication. Taylor’s results yielded a .150 g% of blood alcohol content. It was also determined that Taylor had a prior conviction of Driving While Intoxicated within the last ten years. Taylor was booked and incarcerated.
