MCPD Arrest Report 12/06/2017
Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 34 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result beginning on 12/05/2017:
Joseph Davis, 58 years of age, address: Leona St. Morgan City,LA, arrested on 12/05/2017 @ 10:46 a.m.
Charges: Possession with intent to Distribute Schedule I-Cocaine
Possession of Drug paraphernalia
Transactions involving Proceeds from Drug transaction
Violation of Uniform CDS Law-Drug Free Zone
Investigators with the Morgan City Police Narcotics division served a search warrant at a residence on Leona St. Joseph Davis was located at the residence and during the search detectives located suspected cocaine inside of the residence. The residence is also located in a drug free. Joseph Davis was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.
Glen A. Johnson, 59 years of age, address: Lincoln Ave, Baldwin ,La, arrested on 12/05/2017 @ 2:41 p.m.
Charges: Speeding
No Drivers License
No Registration
A patrol officer in the area of Railroad Ave conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle which he observed speeding in a school zone. Glen A Johnson was identified as the driver and asked for his driver’s license. Johnson did not have a driver’s license, nor a valid registration for the vehicle. Glen Johnson was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Arthur Welsh Jr, 23 years of age, address: Oak St., Morgan City,La arrested on 12/05/2017 @5:30 p.m.
Charge: Theft between $5000.00 and $25,000.00
Officers were called to a local business to investigate a theft that had occurred. Arthur Welsh Jr. were identified as suspect in the thefts. Officers spoke Welsh Jr at which time he admitted to taking the items without paying for them. He was placed under arrest, booked, and incarcerated into the Morgan City Police Department Jail.
Courtnie Chenevert, 35 years of age, address: Onstead St., Morgan Cty, La, arrested on 12/05/2017 8:21 p. m.
Charges: Warrant – City Court of Morgan City for Failure to Appear
Driving under suspension
Resisting an officer by giving false information
Obstruction of Justice
Possession of Scheduled II-Hydrocodone
Possession of Scheduled III-Benzphetamine
Officers responded to a complaint from a local business about a vehicle which had been in the parking lot for an extended period of time. Officer arrived and located the vehicle and Courtnie Chenevert. The officer knew of outstanding warrants on Courtnie Chenevert at which time she identified herself as another person. As officers were attempting to arrest Chenevert they noticed that she was attempting to eat something, as officers were stopping her they noticed that she had several pills in her hand. Chenevert was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
