Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 72-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 82 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result beginning on 01/05/2018:
Dustin C. Lennep, 41 years of age, address: Barrow St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 01/05/2018 @ 11:53 a.m.
Charges: Resisting an Officer by Giving False Information
Patrol officers observed a subject in the area of Duke St. acting in a suspicious manner. Officers came in contact with the subject who provided officers with a false name. The subject was positively identified as Dustin C. Lennep. According to reports, Lennep admitted that he provided a false name due to believing that he held active arrest warrants from another area. Lennep was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
Caston Malveaux, 61 years of age, address: B Signe St. Patterson, La., arrested on 01/05/2018 @ 12:03 p.m.
Charges: Warrant: F.T.A. to Pay Probation Fee on 09/05/2017
Caston Malveaux was located and arrested in the area of Laurel St. on an active arrest warrant held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Malveaux was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Improper Turning
Patrol officers observed a vehicle negotiate an improper turn in the area of Fifth St. A stop was initiated and Travis T. Singleton was identified as the operator of the vehicle. There was also a juvenile in the vehicle. According to reports, Singleton was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana. Singleton was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Ivan S. Hall was located and arrested in the area of Terrebonne St. on an active arrest warrant held by the 16th Judicial Court. Hall was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
William W. Butler, 30 years of age, address: Leo Dr. Patterson, La., arrested on 01/05/2018 @ 10:47 p.m.

Patrol officers observed a vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign in the area of Fifth St. A stop was initiated and William W. Butler was identified as the operator of the vehicle. Butler was found to be in an intoxicated state. Butler performed poorly on Standardized Field Sobriety Test. Butler was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he refused chemical testing. Butler was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of MLK Blvd in an erratic manner swerving from lane to lane. A stop was initiated and Johnny L. Cole was identified as the operator of the vehicle. Michael W. Sweetser Jr. was identified as an occupant. According to reports, Cole and Sweetser were found to be in possession of suspected Methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Cole was also found to be in possession of suspected marijuana. The area where the incident had taken place was within a Drug-Free Zone. Cole and Sweetser were arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where they were booked and incarcerated.

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of MLK Blvd without a license plate. A stop was initiated and Walter A. Lemus was identified as the operator of the vehicle. Lemus was found not to have a valid Louisiana Driver’s License. Lemus was found to be in an intoxicated state. Lemus performed poorly on Standardized Field Sobriety. Lemus was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail for Chemical Testing. Lemus submitted to chemical test and registered .092g% blood alcohol content. Lemus was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Rivet was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Reports indicate that Fisher provided officers with a false name before being identified. Fisher was found to be in possession of suspected Clonazepam, Tramadol, Marijuana, and Drug Paraphernalia. Fisher was also found to hold active warrants for her arrest through the 16th Judicial Court. Fisher was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

Patrol officers observed Odie G. Nadar in the area of Onstead St. It was known to the officer that Nadar held active arrest warrants through the 16th Judicial and 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Officers attempted to stop Nadar at which time she fled on foot. She was apprehended and arrested. Nadar was transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

Charges: Disturbing the Peace
Patrol officers responded to the area of Headland St. in regards to a disturbance. According to reports, officers arrived and Gage Ford and Galen W. Ford were identified as being involved. Evidence was uncovered that Gage Ford had brandished a firearm during the disturbance and began to allegedly threaten the victim. Gage and Galen were arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail for booking. The investigation is ongoing.

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of Hwy 182 at 55 mph in a 35 mph zone. A stop was initiated and Cliffton D. Adkins was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports, Adkins was found to be in an intoxicated state. Adkins performed poorly on Standardized Field Sobriety Test. Adkins was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail for Chemical Test which he refused. Records check indicated that Adkins had two prior arrests for Driving While Intoxicated Offenses. Adkins was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of Hwy 182 at 55 mph in a 35 mph zone. A stop was initiated and Cliffton D. Adkins was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports, Adkins was found to be in an intoxicated state. Adkins performed poorly on Standardized Field Sobriety Test. Adkins was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail for Chemical Test which he refused. Records check indicated that Adkins had two prior arrests for Driving While Intoxicated Offenses. Adkins was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.
