MCPD Arrest Report 01/09/2018
Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 39 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result beginning on 01/08/2018:
Gage Ford, 26 years of age, address: Ditch Ave. Morgan City, La., arrested on 01/08/2018 @ 6:56 p.m.
Charges: Warrant: Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
Warrant: Obstruction of Justice
Gage Ford was located and arrested in the area of Ditch Ave. on active arrest warrants held by the Morgan City Police. The warrants stem from an investigation conducted by investigators on January 07, 2018 when officers responded to the area of Headland St. in regards to a disturbance. During that incident, Ford allegedly brandished a firearm and threatened the victim. Ford was arrested on that incident. The investigation continued and after subsequent interviews evidence was uncovered that Ford had concealed evidence after the initial incident. It was also learned through further investigation that Ford was a convicted felon prohibiting him from possessing a firearm. Warrants were prepared for Ford’s arrest. Ford was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Jimmy R. Davis, 35 years of age, address: Ridgefield Ave. Morgan City, La., arrested on 01/08/2018 @ 11:01 p.m.
Charges: Possession of Legend Drug without a Prescription (3 Counts)
Improper Lighting
Patrol officers observed a subject on a bicycle without proper lighting. A stop was initiated and Jimmy R. Davis was identified. According to reports, Davis was found to be in possession of Paroxetine Hydrochloride, Trazodone Hydrochloride, and Benztropine Mesylate which he could not provide a valid prescription for. Davis was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
Charges: Possession of Legend Drug without a Prescription (3 Counts)
