MCPD Arrest Report 01/10/2018

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 35 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result beginning on 01/09/2018:

Ryan J. Bowman, 22 years of age, address: Jupiter St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 01/09/2018 @ 2:39 p.m. 

Charges: Warrant: Probation Violation

Ryan J. Bowman was located and arrested at the Morgan City Police Department on an active arrest warrant held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Bowman was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Johnathon Priestley, 24 years of age, address: Fourth St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 01/09/2018 @ 3:07 p.m.

Charges: Warrant: F.T.A. to Pay Fine on 09/19/2017 (5 Counts)

Johnathon Priestley was located and arrested at the Morgan City Police Department on active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Priestley was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Edwin Herrera, 39 years of age, address: Leona St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 01/09/2018 @ 6:37 p.m.

Charges: No Driver’s License
                 Improper Lighting
                 Resisting an Officer by Giving False Information

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of Hwy 182 with improper lighting. A stop was initiated and Edwin Herrera was eventually identified. According to reports, Herrera provided officers with a false name during the initial contact. Herrera was found not to possess a valid Louisiana Driver’s License. Herrera was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Tyler M. Kapp, 26 years of age, address: Crenshaw St. Berwick, La., arrested on 01/09/2018 @ 8:34 p.m.

Charges: Possession of SCH II CDS W/I/T/D (Methamphetamine)

                 Warrant: F.T.A. for Drug Court on 01/03/2018

Brandy Fields 01092018

Brandy L. Fields, 37 years of age, address: Florence St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 01/09/2018 @ 8:34 p.m.

Charges: Possession of SCH II CDS (Methamphetamine)
                 Possession of Marijuana
                 Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
                 Warrant: Possession of SCH II CDS (Methamphetamine)
                 Warrant: Violation of Uniform CDS Law (Drug-Free Zone)
                 Warrant: Disregard of Traffic Controls

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of Halsey St. with improper lighting. A stop was initiated and Tyler Kapp was identified as the operator of the vehicle. Brandy L. Fields was identified as an occupant. According to reports, Kapp and Fields were found to be in possession of suspected Methamphetamine, Marijuana, and Drug Paraphernalia. Evidence was uncovered during the investigation that the suspected Methamphetamine that Kapp possessed was destined to be sold in illicit sales. Kapp’s Louisiana Driver’s License was found to be under suspension and he held an active arrest warrant through the 16th Judicial Court. Fields' was also found to have active arrest warrants through the Morgan City Police. Those warrants stem from an investigation conducted by patrol officers on March 21, 2017, when officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of Seventh St. disregard a traffic control. A stop was initiated and Fields was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports, Fields was found to be in possession of suspected Methamphetamine. The area where this incident had taken place was within a (Drug-Free Zone). The investigation continued and warrants were filed for Field's arrest. Kapp and Fields were arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where they were booked and incarcerated.

Trey M. Simoneaux, 34 years of age, address: Red Cypress Patterson, La., arrested on 01/09/2018 @ 10:42 p.m.

Charges: Warrant: F.T.A. for Contempt Hearing on 11/29/2017

Trey M. Simoneaux was located and arrested in the area of Justa St. on an active arrest warrant held by the 16th Judicial Court. Simoneaux was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
