MCPD Arrest Report 02/15/2018
Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 43 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result beginning on 02/14/2018:
Tracy Silva, 53 years of age, address: Park Rd. Morgan City, La., arrested on 02/14/2018 @ 11:13 a.m.
Charges: Warrant: F.T.A. to Pay Fine on 12/05/2017
Warrant: F.T.A. to Pay Fine on 01/16/2018
Tracy Silva was located and arrested at the Morgan City Police Department on active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Silva was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.
Vivian S. Francis, 28 years of age, address: Egle St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 02/14/2018 @ 2:35 p.m.
Charges: Driving under Suspension
Speeding 30 mph in a 15 mph Zone
Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of Marguerite St. at 30 mph in a 15 mph School Zone. A stop was initiated and Vivian Francis was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports, Francis’ Louisiana Driver’s License was found to be under suspension. Francis was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.
Kimberly Evans, 26 years of age, address: River Road Berwick, La., arrested on 02/14/2018 @ 5:10 p.m.
Charges: Warrant: F.T.A. to Pay Fine 01/30/2018 (3 counts)
Warrant: Failure to Comply with Terms of Drug Court (2 counts)
Kimberly Evans was located and arrested in the area of Brashear Ave. on active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward and 16th Judicial Courts. Evans was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.
Edward Ford, 54 years of age, address: Ditch Ave. Morgan City, La., arrested on 02/14/2018 @ 6:39 p.m.
Charges: Warrant: F.T.A. for Arraignment on 09/26/2007
Edward Ford was located and arrested in the area of Ditch Ave. on active arrest warrants held by the 16th Judicial Court in Iberia Parish. Ford was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
Barron W. Bowie, 52 years of age, address: Cherry St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 02/14/2018 @ 9:00 p.m.
Charges: Driving while Intoxicated 1st Offense
Improper lighting
Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of Fifth St. without proper lighting. A stop was initiated and Barron W. Bowie was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports, Bowie was found to be in an intoxicated state. Bowie performed poorly on Standardized Field Sobriety Test. Bowie was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail for Chemical Test which he refused to submit to. Bowie was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.
Frank E. Cates, 61 years of age, address: S. Irwin St. Sulphur, La., arrested on 02/15/2018 @ 3:57 a.m.
Charges: Driving while Intoxicated 2nd Offense
Patrol officers observed a vehicle in the parking lot of a local business in the area of Victor II Blvd with two flat tires on the vehicle. The officer approached the vehicle and Frank E. Cates was located and identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports, Cates struck the curb while operating the vehicle on Victor II Blvd causing the tires to deflate. Cates was found to be in an intoxicated state. Cates performed poorly on Standardized Field Sobriety Test. Cates was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail for Chemical Test which he submitted to resulting in .287g% blood alcohol content. Records indicated that Cates had a prior driving while intoxicated offense in 2014. Cates was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.
