MCPD Arrest Report 02/20/2018
Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 38 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result beginning on 02/19/2018:
Malcoln J. Smith, 31 years of age, Address-Orange St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/19/2018 @ 1:15 pm.
Charge: Warrant- Bank Fraud over $1000.00
Malcoln Smith was located in the area of Railroad Ave. and East Blvd. and placed under arrest for an active warrant he held for the Morgan City Police Department. The warrant stems from an investigation that began in January of 2018, which alleges that Smith wrote checks to himself from a closed checking account and deposited those checks in a new account at one the local banks. Smith also is alleged to have made withdrawals from the account. Smith was booked and incarcerated.
Shanita Evans, 39 years of age, Address- Oak St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/19/2018 @ 5:39 pm.
Charge: Warrant-Failure to Appear for Trial
Shanita Evans was located at her residence and placed under arrest for an active warrant she held for the 16th Judicial District Court. Evans transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Randy G. Clark, 31 years of age, Address- Friendship Lane Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/19/2018 @ 5:45 pm.
Charge: Warrant- Probation Violation
Randy Clark was placed under arrest at the Morgan City Police Department for an active warrant he held for the 6th Ward City Court. Clark was booked and incarcerated.
David A. Ackman, 37 years of age, Address- Vine Dr. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/19/2018 @ 9:13 pm.
Charge: Driving Under Suspension
A patrol officer in the area of LA 182 near Pecos St observed a vehicle with improper lighting. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, David Ackman was asked to provide a valid driver’s license. A computer check revealed that Ackman’s driver’s license was suspended. Ackman was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
