MCPD Arrest Report 03/06/2018
Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 48 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result beginning on 03/05/2018:
Arnoldo A. Recinos Arita, 21 years of age, address: Roderick St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 03/05/2018 @ 12:00 a.m.
Charges: Driving while Intoxicated 1st Offense
Improper Lighting
No Driver’s License
Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of LA 182 without proper lighting. A stop was initiated and Arnoldo A. Recinos Arita was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports, Arita did not possess a valid Louisiana Driver License. Arita was also found to be in an intoxicated state. Arita performed poorly on Standardized Field Sobriety Test. Arita was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail for Chemical Test which he submitted to registering .144g% blood alcohol content. Arita was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.
Kedesha N. Scott, 23 years of age, address: Federal Ave. Morgan City, La., arrested on 03/05/2018 @ 12:20 p.m.
Charges: Warrant: F.T.A. to Pay Fine on 02/06/2018 (3 Counts)
Kedesha N. Scott was located and arrested at the Morgan City Police Department on active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Scott was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.
Bryson A. Scully, 17 years of age, address: Lakeview Dr. Morgan City, La., arrested on 03/05/2018 @ 4:41 p.m.
Charges: Possession of Marijuana
General Speed Law
Investigators with the Morgan City Police Department Narcotics Division observed a vehicle traveling in the area of Bowman St. at speeds much higher than the posted 10 mph speed limit. A stop was initiated and Bryson A. Scully was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports, Scully was found to be in possession of suspected Marijuana. Scully was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
Shane P. Smith, 44 years of age, address: Beacon Dr. Youngsville, La., arrested on 03/05/2018 @ 5:13 p.m.
Charges: Possession of SCH I CDS (Synthetic Marijuana)
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Violation of Uniform CDS Law (Drug-Free Zone)
Patrol officers responded to the area of Levee Rd. in regards to a vehicle being driven in a reckless manner. A description of the vehicle was obtained and when officers arrived in the area located the vehicle. A stop was initiated and Shane P. Smith was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports, Smith was found to be in possession of suspected Synthetic Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia. The area where this incident had taken place was within a Drug-Free Zone. Smith was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
