MCPD Arrest Report 03/08/2018

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 49 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result beginning on 03/07/2018:

Carlos Ruiz Santos 03072018


Carlos Ruiz-Santos, 41 years of age, address: Main St. Patterson, La., arrested on 03/07/2018 @ 12:58 p.m.

Charges: Warrant: F.T.A. to Pay Fine on 01/30/2018 (6 Counts)
                 Warrant: Theft of a Motor Vehicle $1,000 to $5,000

Carlos Ruiz-Santos was located and arrested at the St. James Parish Detention Center on active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court and Morgan City Police. The warrant from the Morgan City Police stems from an investigation conducted by patrol officers on January 09, 2018 in regards to a stolen vehicle. Carlos Ruiz-Santos was identified as a suspect during the investigation. The vehicle was located in St. James Parish. The investigation continued and warrants were prepared for Ruiz-Santos’ arrest. Ruiz-Santos was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Carol Means, 66 years of age, Address- Elk St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 03/07/2018 @ 1:15 pm.

Charges: Warrant: Disturbing the Peace
                 Warrant: Criminal Trespassing

Carol Means was located and arrested at the Morgan City Police Department on active arrest warrants held by the Morgan City Police. The warrants stem from an investigation conducted by patrol officers on January 27, 2018 when Means allegedly trespassed on the victims property while causing a disturbance. The investigation continued and warrants were prepared for Means’ arrest. Means was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Samuel Gary, 27 years of age, address: Egle St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 03/08/2018 @ 2:08 a.m.

Charges: Possession of Marijuana 2nd Offense
                 Entry or Remaining on Places after being Forbidden

Patrol officers responded to a local business in the area of LA 182 in regards to a complaint of a suspicious person. Officers arrived Samuel Gary was identified. According to reports, Gary allegedly caused a disturbance while in the establishment and refused to leave. Gary was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana. Gary was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
