Blake J. Smith, 28 years of age, address: Tiffany St. Patterson, La., arrested on 03/09/2018 @ 1:26 a.m.

Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
On March 08, 2018 at approximately 4:12 a.m. investigators with the Morgan City Police Department began an investigation in regards to shots being fired in the area of Railroad Ave. A male victim was identified who suffered non-life threatening injuries and is receiving medical treatment. During the course of the investigation, Blake Smith and Kimberly Jones were identified as suspects. According to reports, Smith allegedly began shooting at the victim as Jones drove the vehicle. Residences and businesses in the area were struck by gun fire during the incident. Smith was also found to be a convicted felon which prohibited him from possessing a firearm. The investigation continued and warrants were prepared for Smith’s and Jones’ arrest. Jones was located and arrested at the Morgan City Police Department on the active arrest warrants. Blake Smith was located and arrested at an address in Patterson, LA. Patterson Police Department and the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office assisted in the apprehension. Jones and Smith were booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated. The investigation is still ongoing.
