MCPD Arrest Report 03/12/2018
Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 72-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 107 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result beginning on 03/09/2018:
Alida W. Vining, 53 years of age, address: Pauline Ct. Morgan City, La., arrested on 03/09/2018 @ 10:45 a.m.
Charges: Warrant: F.T.A. for Arraignment on 12/08/2015
Driving under Suspension
Patrol officers initiated a stop on a vehicle in the area of Freret St. that disregarded a traffic control. Alida W. Vining was identified as the operator of the vehicle. Vining’s Louisiana Driver’s License was found to be under suspension. Vining was also found to hold an active arrest warrant through the 16th Judicial Court. Vining was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.
Patricia Savoie, 46 years of age, address: Fourth St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 03/09/2018 @ 1:58 p.m.

Patrol officers responded to the area of Railroad Ave. in regards to a crash and one of the vehicles had fled the scene. According to reports, during the investigation Elton J. Pinn was identified as a suspect. Pinn was located in the area of St. Claire St. and evidence was uncovered linking him to the crash. Pinn’s Louisiana Driver’s License was found to be under suspension and the vehicle he was operating did not have a license plate. Pinn was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Possession of an Alcoholic Beverage in a Motor Vehicle
Patrol officers observed a vehicle in the area of LA 182 being operated in an erratic manner. A stop was initiated and Elvin A. Midence was identified. According to reports, Midence was found not to possess a valid Louisiana Driver’s License. Midence was also found to be in possession of an open alcoholic beverage in the vehicle. Midence was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Patrol officers initiated a stop on a vehicle that Shawn C. Ramagos was identified as an occupant. According to reports, the officers detected an odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. During the investigation, Ramagos was observed ingesting suspected marijuana. The officer attempted to retrieved the suspected marijuana which Ramagos resisted officers and bit one of the officers in an attempted to destroy the substance. More suspected marijuana was located in the vehicle along with Drug Paraphernalia. Ramagos was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
Roslyn Cortez, 52 years of age, address: Second St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 03/10/2018 @ 1:15 p.m.

Patrol officers observed a vehicle make a left hand turn onto MLK Blvd. from Allison St. which is prohibited. According to reports, the officer attempted to initiated a stop on the vehicle but the operator failed to stop. The subject fled from officers at speeds more than double the posted speed limit. The subject traveled off the road and around vehicle showing no due regard to public safety. The vehicle stopped in the area of Federal Ave. when the operator fled on foot. He was apprehended a short time later and identified as Demarkus T. Webster. Once apprehended Webster resisted officers and he was eventually subdued. Webster was found to hold active arrest warrants through the 16th Judicial Court and Probation and Parole. Webster was also found not to possess a valid Louisiana Driver’s License. Webster as arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Patrol officer responded to a local business in the area of LA 182 in regards to a suspicious subject in a vehicle. Officers arrived and upon seeing the officers the subject fled in the vehicle. According to reports, the vehicle traveled at speeds more than double the posted speed limit. The vehicle was operated in a reckless manner into the opposite lane of travel forcing oncoming motorist to leave the roadway. The vehicle eventually stopped in the area of Veterans Blvd. The operator locked the doors and was observed ingesting suspected narcotics. The operator was removed from the vehicle. Cory A. Chapman was identified. Chapman was found to be in possession of Drug Paraphernalia and suspected Quetiapine Fumarate. Chapman was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
Eric B. Carter, 27 years of age, address: Mallard St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 03/11/2018 @ 2:26 p.m.
Charges: Warrant: F.T.A. to Pay Fine on 01/23/2018

Eric B. Carter was located and arrested in the area of Mallard St. on active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court and Morgan City Police. The warrants from the Morgan City Police stem from an investigation conducted by patrol officers on February 28, 2018 when officers responded to the area of Mallard St. in regards to a disturbance. According to reports, Carter allegedly committed an assault on the victim while damaging property. Carter fled the scene prior to officers arrival. The investigation continued and warrants were prepared for Carter’s arrest. Carter was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
Leo Dore, 45 years of age, address: Bush St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 03/11/2018 @ 4:43 p.m.

According to reports, Padilla-Bustillo produced fraudulent documents for identification purposes. Padilla-Bustillo was also found not to possess a valid Louisiana Driver’s License.
