MCPD Arrest Report 03/16/2018
Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 43 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result beginning on 03/15/2018:
Naomi M. Courville, 40 years of age, address: Bush St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 03/15/2018 @ 2:32 p.m.
Charges: Driving under Suspension
Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of Louisa St. by Naomi Courville. The officer had knowledge that Courville’s Louisiana Driver’s License was under suspension. Courville’s suspension was confirmed when a stop was initiated. Courville was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of Louisa St. by Naomi Courville. The officer had knowledge that Courville’s Louisiana Driver’s License was under suspension. Courville’s suspension was confirmed when a stop was initiated. Courville was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.
Somoa K. Scott Jr., 21 years of age, address: Hilda St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 03/15/2018 @ 3:52 p.m.

Racquel D. Barber, 42 years of age, address: Roderick St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 03/15/2018 @ 3:52 p.m.
Charges: Possession of Marijuana
Violation of Uniform CDS Law (Drug-Free Zone)
Investigators with the Morgan City Police Department Narcotics Division with assistance from the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Section executed a search warrant at a residence in the area of Roderick St. Somoa K. Scott Jr. and Racquel D. Barber along with a juvenile were identified. Scott and Barber were found to be in possession of suspected marijuana. Scott was also found to be in possession of various items of Drug Paraphernalia. Evidence was uncovered that the suspected marijuana belonging to Scott was destined to be sold in illicit sales. U.S. Currency was located that is believed to be derived from the sales of illegal narcotics. A pit bull was located in the residence which is prohibited within the City of Morgan City. The area where the incident had taken place is within a Drug-Free Zone. Scott and Barber were arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where they were booked and incarcerated.
Katy L. Ghirardi, 24 years of age, address: Becky Dr. Patterson, La., arrested on 03/15/2018 @ 11:00 p.m.
Charges: Warrant: Theft of a Firearm
Warrant: Theft of Goods
Katy L. Ghirardi was located and arrested in the area of Industrial Rd. on active arrest warrants held by the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office. Ghirardi was transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.
Melissa S. Trevino, 37 years of age, address: Gail Dr. Patterson, La., arrested on 03/16/2018 @ 1:21 a.m.
Charges: Driving while Intoxicated 1st Offense
Hit and Run Driving
Patrol officers observed a vehicle being in the area of LA 182 strike a traffic sign and proceed to leave the area. A stop was initiated and Melissa S. Trevino was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports, Trevino was found to be in an intoxicated state. Trevino performed poorly on Standardized Field Sobriety Test. Trevino was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail for Chemical Testing which she submitted to registering .192g% blood alcohol content. Trevino was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.
Johnny L. White, 46 years of age, address: Eleventh St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 03/16/2018 @ 4:55 a.m.
Charges: Warrant: F.T.A. to Pay Fine on 11/07/2017
Warrant: F.T.A. for Non Support Court
Johnny L. White was located and arrested in the area of Eleventh St. on active arrest warrants held by the 6th Morgan City Court and Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office. White was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
