MCPD Arrest Report 04/09/2018
Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 72-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 140 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result beginning on 04/06/2018:
John D. Thibodeaux, 31 years of age, address: Coon Richard Morse, La., arrested on 04/06/2018 @ 9:07 a.m.
Charges: Possession of Marijuana
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Improper Lighting
Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area Sixth St. with only one functional brake light. A stop was initiated when John D. Thibodeaux was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports, Thibodeaux was found to be in possession of suspected Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia. Thibodeaux was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Warrant: Violation of Uniform CDS Law (Drug-Free Zone)
Warrant: Resisting an Officer
Jonathan J. Motte was located and arrested in the area of Garber St. on active arrest warrants held by the Morgan City Police. The warrants stem from an investigation conducted by patrol officers on March 31, 2018, when officers initiated a stop on a vehicle in the area of Railroad Ave. According to reports, Motte was an occupant in the vehicle and fled the scene on foot. Officers located suspected Marijuana and Hydrocodone that was linked to Motte. The area where this incident had taken place was within a Drug-Free Zone. The investigation continued and warrants were prepared for Motte’s arrest. Motte was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
Joshua W. Lewis, 32 years of age, address: Federal Ave. Morgan City, La., arrested on 04/06/2018 @ 7:11 p.m.

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of LA 182 negotiate an improper turn. A stop was initiated when Joshua W. Lewis was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports, Lewis was found to be in possession of suspected Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia. Lewis’ Louisiana Driver’s License was found to be under suspension and he held active arrest warrants through the 6th Ward and 16th Judicial Courts. Reports indicate that Lewis caused a disturbance during the investigation that drew the attention of patrons in the area. Lewis was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
Scott P. Authement, 41 years of age, address: Hwy 182 Morgan City, La., arrested on 04/06/2018 @ 8:41 p.m.
Charges: Warrant: F.T.A. to Pay Fine on 01/30/2018
Scott P. Authement was located and arrested in the area of Front St. on an active arrest warrant held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Authement was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
James M. Broussard Jr., 43 years of age, address: Greenleaf Blvd Morgan City, La., arrested on 04/07/2018 @ 2:09 a.m.
Charges: Driving while Intoxicated 1st Offense
Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of LA 182 in an erratic manner swerving from lane to lane. A stop was initiated when James M. Broussard Jr. was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports, Broussard was found to be in an intoxicated state. Broussard was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail for Chemical Testing which he submitted to registering .125g% blood alcohol content. Broussard was booked and incarcerated.

Kirsty M. Richard, 25 years of age, address: Enterprise Ave. Patterson, La., arrested on 04/07/2018 @ 8:08 a.m.

Kirsty M. Richard was located and arrested at the Morgan City Police Department on active arrest warrants held by the Morgan City Police. The warrants stem from two separate incidents. The first incident occurred on March 18, 2018, when Richard allegedly struck the victim at an establishment near the area of LA 182. The second incident occurred on April 2, 2018, when Richard allegedly struck the victim causing injuries that required medical attention. The investigation in both of these incidents continued and warrants were prepared for Richard’s arrest. Richard was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.
Justin L. Campbell, 26 years of age, address: Flagship Dr. Nicholasville, KY., arrested on 04/07/2018 @ 11:28 a.m.

Patrol officers observed a suspicious vehicle parked in a parking lot in the area of LA 182 with two subjects inside of it. The officers initiated contact with the subjects who were identified as Justin L. Campbell and Michael R. Wishman. According to reports, Campbell and Wishman were found to be in possession of suspected Drug Paraphernalia. The duo was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where they were booked and incarcerated.

Patrol officers observed a vehicle with improper lighting in the area of Federal Ave. The officer attempted to initiate a stop on the vehicle when the operator failed to comply. The vehicle traveled through several streets before stopping in the area of Laurel St. Levar J. Variet was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports, Variet was found to be in possession of suspected Marijuana, Cocaine, and an open container of an alcoholic beverage. Variet’s Louisiana Driver’s License was found to be under suspension and the vehicle he was operating was not properly insurance as required by Louisiana Law and had a license plate that belonged to another vehicle. Variet was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
Jerald W. Francois, 27 years of age, address: Everett St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 04/08/2018 @ 5:52 p.m.

Jerald W. Francois was located and arrested in the area of Leona St. on active arrest warrants held by the Morgan City Police. The warrants stem from an investigation conducted by patrol officers on March 5, 2018, when Francois allegedly struck the victim stealing his cell phone in the process. The investigation continued and warrants were prepared for Francois’ arrest. Francois was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
