MCPD Arrest Report 04/12/2018

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 56 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result beginning on 04/11/2018:

Drake C. Wood, 18 years of age, address: Parro Ln. Berwick, La., arrested on 04/11/2018 @ 7:50 a.m.

Charges: Warrant: F.T.A. for 501 Notice on 04/10/2018 (3 counts)
                 Warrant: F.T.A. for Arraignment on 04/10/2018 (2 counts)

Drake C. Wood was located and arrested in the area of Maple St. on active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Wood was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Shane Scott, 34 years of age, address: Myra St. Franklin, La., arrested on 04/11/2018 @ 10:18 a.m.

Charges: Driving under Suspension

Patrol officers initiated a stop on a vehicle in the area of Fifth St. that negotiated an improper turn.  Shane Scott was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports, Scott’s Louisiana Driver’s License was found to be under suspension. Scott was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Lyneesha L. Jackson, 31 years of age, address: Mallard St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 04/11/2018 @ 5:45 p.m.

Charges: Disturbing the Peace

Patrol officers responded to the area of Terrebonne St. in regards to a disturbance. Officers arrived when Lyneesha L. Jackson was identified as one of the subjects involved. According to reports, Jackson allegedly became irate and began hollering in the presence of the officer. Jackson was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

Herman J. Butler, 30 years of age, address: MLK St. Patterson, La., arrested on 04/11/2018 @ 9:22 p.m.

Charges: Warrant: Criminal Trespassing
                 Warrant: Resisting an officer (2 Counts)

Herman J. Butler was located and arrested at the Morgan City Police Department on active arrest warrants held by the Morgan City Police. The warrants stem from an investigation conducted by patrol officers on May 14, 2017, when they came in contact with Butler in the area of Wren St. According to reports, Butler provided the officer with a false name upon initial contact. Butler was found to be barred from entering upon Housing Authority Property. While the officer was attempting to initiate an arrest Butler fled the area on foot. The investigation continued and warrants were prepared for Butler’s arrest. Butler was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.
