MCPD Arrest Report 04/19/2018

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 46 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result beginning on 04/18/2018:

Irvian A. Singleton III, 19 years of age, address: Garber St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 04/18/2018 @ 10:29 p.m.

Charges: Simple Assault

Patrol officers responded to the Morgan City High School in regards to a complaint of an assault. Officers arrived and according to reports,  Irvian A. Singleton III was identified as threatening to commit a battery on the victim during a verbal altercation.  Singleton was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Elton J. Pinn, 34 years of age, address: St. Clair St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 04/18/2018 @ 4:41 p.m.

Charges: Driving under Suspension

Patrol officers observed Elton J. Pinn operating a vehicle in the area of Florence. The officer had knowledge that Pinn’s Louisiana Driver’s License was suspended due to past dealings. A stop was initiated and the suspension was verified. Pinn was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Jesse Engleton, 47 years of age, address: Apple St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 04/19/2018 @ 12:00 p.m.

Charges: Improper Lighting
                 Driver’s License not on Person
                 Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of Railroad Ave. with only one operational headlight. A stop was initiated when Jesse Engleton was identified as the operator of the vehicle. Engleton did not possess his Louisiana Driver’s License. Engleton was found to be in possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Engleton was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Shawana M. Jones, 43 years of age, address: Plum St. Patterson, La., arrested on 04/19/2018 @ 7:13 a.m.

Charges: Speeding 30 mph in a 15 mph zone (School Zone)
                 Driving under Suspension

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of Marguerite St. at speeds of 30 mph in a 15 mph school zone. A stop was initiated when Shawana M. Jones was identified as the operator of the vehicle. Jones’ Louisiana Driver’s License was found to be under suspension. Jones was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.
