MCPD Arrest Report 05/11/2018
Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 54 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result beginning on 05/10/2018:
Jerry A. Savoie Jr., 57 years of age, address: Oak St. Larose, La., arrested on 05/10/2018 @ 8:50 a.m.
Charges: Criminal Damage to Property $1,000 to $5,000
Jerry A. Savoie Jr. was located and arrested at the Lafourche Parish Detention Center on an active arrest warrant held by the Morgan City Police. The warrant stems from an investigation conducted by patrol officers on August 11, 2017, when officers responded to a local business in the area of Brashear Ave. in regards to property that was damage. According to reports, Savoie was identified as a suspect in the investigation. Savoie allegedly damaged property belonging to the business in the amount of $1,200. The investigation continued when warrants were prepared for Savoie’s arrest. Savoie was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
Thomas C. Thompson, 44 years of age, address: First St. Berwick, La., arrested on 05/10/2018 @ 10:26 a.m.
Charges: Warrant: Failure to Comply with the Terms of Drug Court (2 counts)
Warrant: F.T.A. for Revocation Hearing on 10/02/2017
Driving under Suspension
Patrol officers initiated a stop on a vehicle due to an improper lane change. Thomas C. Thompson was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports, Thompson’s Louisiana Driver’s License was found to be under suspension. Thompson was also found to hold active arrest warrants through the 16th Judicial Court. Thompson was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
Sterling Smith, 26 years of age, address: Solar Trailer Pk. Thibodaux, La., arrested on 05/10/2018 @ 2:10 p.m.
Charges: F.T.A. for Court for 501 Notice on 11/28/2017 (3 counts)
Sterling Smith was located and arrested at the Morgan City Police Department on active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Smith was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.
John K. Buck Jr., 31 years of age, address: Ricohoc Dr. Franklin, La., arrested on 05/10/2018 @ 3:03 p.m.
Charges: Warrant: Hit and Run
Warrant: Carless Operation
Warrant: Improper Equipment
Warrant: F.T.A. for Contempt Hearing on 03/15/2018 (2 counts)
John K. Buck Jr. was located and arrested at the Morgan City Police Department on active arrest warrants held by the Morgan City Police and the 16th Judicial Court. The warrants from the Morgan City Police stems from an investigation conducted by patrol officers on March 11, 2018, when officers responded to the area of LA 70 in regards to a crash. According to reports, John K. Buck Jr. was identified during the investigation. Buck allegedly struck a fence in the area of LA 70 and fled the scene. The vehicles tires were deemed to be in poor condition and unsafe for travel. The investigation continued when warrants were prepared for Buck’s arrest. Buck was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.
Tony Harris, 56 years of age, address: Orange St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 05/10/2018 @ 9:24 p.m.
Charges: Domestic Abuse Battery
Disturbing the Peace
Patrol officers responded to the area of Orange St. in regards to a disturbance. Officers arrived when Tony Harris was identified. According to reports, Harris allegedly struck the victim during a verbal altercation and caused a disturbance. Harris was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
Jonathan C. Murray, 33 years of age, address: Railroad Ave. Morgan City, La., arrested on 05/10/2018 @ 10:36 p.m.
Charges: Warrant: F.T.A. for Revocation on 03/28/2018
Disturbing the Peace
Patrol officers responded to the area of South Railroad Ave. in regards to a disturbance. Officer arrived when Jonathan C. Murray was identified. According to reports, Murray caused a disturbance in the presence of the officer. Murray was also found to hold an active arrest warrant through the 16th Judicial Court. Murray was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
Elton J. Pinn, 34 years of age, address: St. Clair St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 05/10/2018 @ 10:41 p.m.
Charges: Warrant: F.T.A. for Arraignment on 05/01/2018 (4 counts)
Resisting an Officer
Patrol officers observed Elton J. Pinn in the area of Railroad Ave. The officer had knowledge that Pinn held active arrest warrants through the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. According to reports, Pinn fled on foot while taking him into custody. Pinn was apprehended a short time later when he was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
