MCPD Arrest Report 05/22/2018

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 36 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result beginning on 05/21/2018:


Michael P. Granger, 65 years of age, Address-Fifth St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 05/21/2018 @ 2:48 am.

Charge: Simple Battery

  Officers responded to a residence on Fifth St. in regards to a disturbance. Officers arrived and Michael Granger was identified as the individual involved in the disturbance. According to reports, the victim stated that she was gathering her belongings in the residence when Granger committed a battery on her. There were marks on the victim consistent with her statement.  Granger was located inside the residence, placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.


Germain Singleton, 37 years of age, Address-Orange St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 05/21/2018 @ 10:26 am.

Charge:  Resisting an Officer
                 Warrant-Failure to Appear for Trial (2cts)

   A patrol officer in the area of Arizona and Duke St. observed an individual, Germain Singleton in the area. The officer was aware of Singleton holding active warrants for the 6th Ward City Court. Reports indicate, as the officer approached Singleton, he began to evade the officer by running. Singleton was apprehended a short time later and placed under arrest. Singleton was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.


Peggy A. Fabre, 51 years of age, Address- Francis St. Berwick, La. was arrested on 05/21/2018 @ 4:32 pm.

Charge:  Stop Sign Violation
                 Improper Lane Usage
                 Driving Under Suspension
                 Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
                 Warrant- Failure to Appear

    A patrol officer in the area of Federal and Railroad Ave observed a vehicle fail to stop at the stop sign at the intersection and driving in the center of the lane.   A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Peggy Fabre was asked to produce a valid driver’s license. A computer check revealed that Fabre’s license was under suspension. The officer also located an item commonly used to smoke illegal narcotics in Fabre’s possession. It was determined that Fabre held an active warrant for the 16th Judicial District Court. Fabre was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.


Scott Reid, 56 years of age, Address-Fourth St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 05/21/2018 @ 9:07 pm.

Charge:  Warrant- Contempt of Court

   Scott Reid was located in the area of Eighth St. Reid was placed under arrest for an active warrant held for the 6th Ward City Court. Reid was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.


Leticia R. Charles, 50 years of age, Address- Mike Dr. Patterson, La. was arrested on 05/21/2018 11:09 pm.

Charge:  Driving While Intoxicated 1st Offense
                 Possession of Marijuana
                 Warrant-Failure to Appear

   A patrol officer in the area of LA Hwy 182 and Park Rd. observed a vehicle on LA Hwy 182 without any headlights on.  A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Leticia Charles was asked to produce a valid driver’s license. According to reports, Charles appeared intoxicated. Charles was asked to perform the Standard Field Sobriety Test, in which she performed poorly. Charles was placed under arrest. Also, suspected marijuana was found inside the vehicle. Charles was transported to the Morgan City Police Department. Once at the police department, Charles submitted to the chemical test for intoxication and yielded a result of .254g% blood alcohol content. Charles was booked and incarcerated.
