MCPD Arrest Report 06/14/2018

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the 24-hour period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 44 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result beginning on 06/13/2018: 

Crystal B. Duhon, 45 years of age, address: Ricohoc Dr. Franklin, La., arrested on 06/13/2018 @ 3:00 p.m.

Charges: Warrant: Driving under Suspension
                 Warrant: Resisting an Officer by Giving False Information
                 Warrant: Improper Turning

Crystal B. Duhon was located and arrested at the Morgan City Police Department on active arrest warrants held by the Morgan City Police. The warrants stem from an investigation conducted by patrol officers on November 16, 2017, when officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of Sixth St. negotiate an improper turn. A stop was initiated when Crystal B. Duhon was eventually identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports, Duhon provided officers with a false identification. Duhon was released on that false identification. Duhon’s real identity was later learned when warrants were prepared for her arrest. Duhon was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

David Allemond 06132018

David J. Allemond, 51 years of age, address: Ashton St. New Iberia, La., arrested on 06/13/2018 @ 8:07 p.m.

Charges: Possession of Marijuana
                 Possession of SCH II CDS (Cocaine)
                 Possession of a Legend Drug (Baclofen)
                 Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
                 Improper Equipment

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of Federal Ave. with improper equipment. A stop was initiated when David J. Allemond was identified. According to reports, Allemond was found to be in possession of suspected Marijuana, Cocaine, Baclofen, and Drug Paraphernalia. Allemond was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Steve Berryhill 06132018

Steve A. Berryhill, 47 years of age, address: Fairmont Ave. Morgan City, La., arrested on 06/13/2018 @ 11:56 p.m.

Charges: Possession of SCH II CDS (Methamphetamine)
                 Improper Turning

Investigators with the Morgan City Police Department Narcotics Division observed a vehicle negotiate an improper turn in the area of MLK Blvd. A stop was initiated when Steve A. Berryhill was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports, Berryhill was found to be in possession of suspected Methamphetamine. Berryhill was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Sir Charles Evans 06142018

Sir Charles E. Evans, 39 years of age, address: Oak St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 06/14/2018 @ 2:52 a.m.

Charges: Domestic Abuse Battery-Strangulation

Patrol officers responded to the area of Oak St. in regards to a disturbance. Officers arrived when Sir Charles E. Evans was identified as one of the parties involved. According to reports, Evans allegedly struck and strangled the victim during the altercation. Evans was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Latasha J. Wolf, 31 years of age, address: Hwy 71 Pineville, La., arrested on 06/14/2018 @ 4:04 a.m.

Charges: Child Desertion


Mariah C. Howard, 24 years of age, address: Everett St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 06/14/2018 @ 4:04 a.m.

Charges: Possession of Marijuana
                 Illegal Use of CDS in the presence of Juveniles
                 Violation of Uniform CDS Law (Drug-Free Zone)

Patrol officers were flagged down in the area of LA 182 by a passing motorist in regards to two small children walking on LA 182 at nearly 11:00 p.m. The two children were located by officers which were 4 and 2 years of age. It was learned that the children were staying at a local motel in the area of LA 182. Officers proceeded to that location and located a 10-month-old child in the room unattended. Latasha J. Wolfe was located in the area who stated that she had come out of her room and observed the room that the children were in with the door open and a small child on the bed without supervision. Mariah C. Howard was identified as the mother other children and officers were advised by Wolfe that Howard had left the area in the vehicle around 8:00 p.m. Officers conducted a safety sweep of the room the children were located in when suspected marijuana was located. The area where this incident had taken place is within a Drug-Free Zone. The Department of Children and Family Services was contacted and the children were released to the care of a family member. Later Mariah C. Howard arrived back at the motel. Officers continued their investigation and learned that Howard had been called to work and she had paid Wolf to babysit the children while she was at work. Evidence was uncovered that corroborated that Howard did, in fact, leave the children in the care of Wolf. Wolf and Howard were both arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where they were booked and incarcerated.
