MCPD Arrest Report 07/09/2018

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 72-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 112 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result beginning on 07/06/2018:
Krystal Tolento 07072018

Krystal N. Tolento, 30 years of age, address: Second St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 07/07/2018 @ 9:57 a.m.

Charges: Warrant: Bank Fraud
                 Warrant: Theft under $1,000
                 Warrant: F.T.A. to Pay Fine on 05/29/2018 (4 counts)

Krystal N. Tolento was located and arrested at the Morgan City Police Department on active arrest warrants held by the Morgan City Police and 6th Ward Morgan City Court. The warrants from the Morgan City Police stem from an investigation conducted by patrol officers on June 21, 2018, when they responded to a local business in the area of LA 182 in regards to a theft. Tolento was identified as one of the parties involved. According to reports, Tolento allegedly forged documents to take funds in the amount of $250.00. The investigation continued when warrants were prepared for Tolento’s arrest. Tolento was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Betty Metrejean 07072018

Betty Metrejean, 53 years of age, address: South Bay Rd. Pierre Part, La., arrested on 07/07/2018   @ 11:09 p.m.

Charges: Theft under $1,000
                 Warrant: F.T.A. for Arraignment on 12/01/2017

Patrol officers responded to the area of LA 70 in regards to a shoplifter. Officers arrived when Betty Metrejean was identified. According to reports, Metrejean took items from the establishment in the amount of $33.61 without paying for them. Metrejean was also found to hold an active arrest warrant through the 16th Judicial Court. Metrejean was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

Jeremiah J. Wiltz, 31 years of age, address: Fourth St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 07/08/2018 @ 12:45 p.m.

Charges: Warrant: Possession of Marijuana
                 Warrant: Possession of SCH II CDS (Methamphetamine)
                 Warrant: D.W.I.-Child Endangerment Law
                 Warrant: Illegal use of CDS in the Presence of Juveniles

Patrol officers responded to the area of Railroad Ave. in regards to a medical emergency. Officers arrived when Jeremiah J. Wiltz was identified. Wiltz was in medical distress. According to reports, Wiltz was observed pulling into a local business in that area and exited the vehicle when he collapsed. Officers administered life-saving techniques until Wiltz was transported to Teche Regional Medical Center by Acadian Ambulance. Wiltz was found to be in possession of suspected Marijuana and Methamphetamine. There were also three young children in the vehicle when this incident had taken place. Wiltz was also found to be in an intoxicated state. Wiltz allegedly admitted to being under the influence of heroin. A search warrant was secured to take blood analysis from Wiltz which is pending at the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab. Wiltz was released due to receiving medical treatment and warrants were prepared for his arrest. Wiltz was located and arrested in the area  LA 70. Wiltz was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Devante’ Frank, 26 years of age, address: Bush St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 07/08/2018 @ 7:52 p.m.


Charges: Warrant: F.T.A. to Pay Fine on 07/03/2018 (7 counts)
                 Warrant: F.T.A. to Pay Probation Fee on 04/03/2018
                  Warrant: F.T.A. for Trial on 05/14/2018 (16th Judicial)

Devante’ Frank was located and arrested in the area of Bowman St. on active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City and 16th Judicial Courts. Frank was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

William G. Easterling Jr., 30 years of age, address: Lebanon Rd. Laurel, Ms. Arrested on 07/08/2018 @ 10:55 p.m.

Charges: Driving while Intoxicated 1st Offense
                 Disregard of Traffic Controls
                 Improper Lane Usage

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of LA 182 disregard a red light. The vehicle was also observed being operated in an erratic manner swerving from lane to lane. A stop was initiated when William G. Easterling Jr. was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports, Easterling was found to be in an intoxicated state. Easterling refused to submit to Standardized Field Sobriety test. Easterling was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail for Chemical Test which he refused to submit to. A search warrant was secured for Easterling’s blood analysis which is pending at the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab. Easterling was booked into the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Shantell Hartdegen, 35 years of age, address: Hwy 20 Schriever, La., arrested on 07/09/2018 @ 12:31 a.m.

Charges: Warrant: F.T.A. for Arraignment on 01/10/2014 (16th Judicial)
                 Warrant: F.T.A. to Pay Probation Fee on 02/04/2014
                 Warrant: F.T.A. to Pay Fine on 03/18/2014

Shantell Hartdegen was located and arrested in the area of LA 70 on active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City and 16th Judicial Court. Hartdegen was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
