MCPD Arrest Report 08/10/2018
Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 45 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result beginning on 08/09/2018:
Kyle Q. Rhett, 27 years of age, address: General McArthur Morgan City, La., arrested on 09/09/2018 @ 8:42 a.m.
Charges: Driving under Suspension (4th Offense)
Patrol officers observed Kyle Q. Rhett operating a vehicle in the area of Railroad Ave. and had knowledge that his Louisiana Driver’s License was under suspension. A stop was initiated when Rhett was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail. Rhett was booked and incarcerated.

Waynisha Navy, 33 years of age, address: Oriole St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 08/09/2018 @ 2:39 p.m.
Charges: Warrant: Domestic Abuse Battery
Warrant: Aggravated Battery
Waynisha Navy was located and arrested in the area of Oriole St. on active arrest warrants held by the Morgan City Police. The warrants stem from an investigation conducted by patrol officers on September 06, 2017 when officers responded to the area of LA 70 in regards to a battery that had been committed. According to reports, Navy was identified as one of the parties involved. Navy allegedly brandished a knife cutting the victim during the altercation. The investigation continued when warrants were prepared for Navy’s arrest. Navy was transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.
Abram M. Granger Jr., 19 years of age, address: Apple St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 08/09/2018 @ 5:30 p.m.
Charges: Warrant: Probation Violation
Abram M. Granger Jr. was located and arrested at the Morgan City Police Department on active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Granger was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.
Juan M. Ponce, 36 years of age, address: Canal St. Plaquemine, La., arrested on 08/09/2018 @ 11:24 p.m.
Charges: Possession of Marijuana
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Illegal Use of CDS in the Presence of Juveniles
Patrol officers responded to a local motel in the area of LA 182 in regards to narcotics activity. Officers arrived when Juan M. Ponce was identified. According to reports, Ponce was found to be in possession of suspected Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia. A small child was located in the room during the investigation. Ponce was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
