MCPD Arrest Report 08/20/2018

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 72-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 130 calls for service. The following person(s) were arrested as a result beginning 08/17/2018:


Jude A. Resignola Sr, 48 years of age, Address- Lesley Dr. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/17/2018 @ 10:35 pm.

Charge:  Driving While Intoxicated 1st offense
                 Improper Lane Usage

   A patrol officer in the area of David Dr. and LA 182 observed a vehicle that was swerving in and out the lane of travel. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Jude Resignola was asked to produce a valid driver’s license. According to reports, Resignola appeared intoxicated. Resignola was asked to perform the Standardized Field Sobriety Test, in which he performed poorly. Resignola was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department. Once at the police department, Resignola submitted to the chemical test for intoxication and his results yielded a .173 g % of blood alcohol content. Resignola was booked and incarcerated.


Jeffery L. Hagen, 56 years of age, Address- Plaquemine, La. was arrested on 08/17/2018 @ 11:39 pm.

Charge:  Driving While Intoxicated 1st Offense

                Possession of Alcoholic Beverage in Motor Vehicle

   Officers responded to the area of LA Hwy 70 in regards to an 18 wheeler speeding in the area. Officers located the vehicle and a traffic stop was conducted. The driver identified as Jeffery Hagen was asked to produce a valid driver’s license. Reports indicate that the officer could smell a strong odor of alcohol emitting from Hagen’s breath. Hagen was asked to perform the Standardized Field Sobriety Test, which he performed poorly. Hagen was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department. Once at the police department, Hagen submitted to the chemical test for intoxication and yielded a result of .200 g % blood alcohol content. Hagen was booked and incarcerated.


Arnold L. Mosley, 57 years of age, Address- Eleventh St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/18/2018 @ 2:46 am.

Charge:  Driving While Intoxicated 2nd Offense

                Driving Under Suspension

    A patrol officer in the area of LA Hwy 182 near Eleventh St. observed a vehicle swerving in and out the lane of travel. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Arnold Mosley was asked to produce a valid driver’s license. A computer check revealed that Mosely’s license was under suspension. According to reports, Mosely appeared intoxicated.  Mosely was asked to perform the Standard Field Sobriety Test, but refused. Mosely was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department. Once at the police department, Mosely submitted to the chemical test for intoxication and his results yielded a .157 g % blood alcohol content. Mosely was booked and incarcerated.


Jermaine S. Keys, 43 years of age, Address- Thibodaux, La. was arrested on 08/18/2018 @ 3:49 am.

Charge:  Remaining After Being Forbidden

   Jermaine Keys was placed under arrest at the Morgan City Police Department, after causing a disturbance with the correction officers. Keys had been told to leave the premises several times, but refused. Keys was placed under arrest, booked and incarcerated.


Harold A. Sheets, 34 years of age, Address- Everett St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/18/2018 @ 3:49 am.

Charge: Warrant- Failure to Appear for Trial (4cts)
                Warrant- Contempt of Court

   Harold Sheets was located on Everett St. and placed under arrest for active warrants he held for the 6th Ward City Court. Sheets was transported to the Morgan City Jail for booking and incarceration.


Malaysia N. Ruffin, 25 years of age, Address- Lafayette, La. was arrested on 08/18/2018 @ 11:21 pm.

Charge: Driving Under Suspension

               Warrant- Battery on a Dating Partner

  An officer in the area of LA Hwy 70 and Veterans Blvd. observed a vehicle with improper lighting. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Malaysia Ruffin was asked to produce a valid driver’s license. A computer check revealed that Ruffin’s driver’s license was suspended. It was also determined that Ruffin held an active warrant with the Berwick Police Department. Ruffin was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Jail for booking and incarceration.


Lance T. Ashmore, 26 years of age, Address- Aucoin St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/18/2018 @ 2:20 pm

Charge:  Warrant- Failure to Pay Probation Fees

   Lance Ashmore was placed under arrest at the Morgan City Police Department for an active warrant he held for the 6th Ward City Court. Ashmore was booked and incarcerated.


Obatiye J. Dent, 23 years of age, Address- Baton Rouge, La. was arrested on 08/19/2018 @ 12:00 am.

Charge:  Driving While Intoxicated 1st Offense
                 Careless Operation

     An officer in the area of Fig St. and LA Hwy 70 observed a vehicle partially off the roadway. A traffic stop was done on the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle identified as Obatiye Dent was asked to produce a valid driver’s license. Reports indicate that the officer could smell an odor of alcohol emitting from Dent’s breath. Dent was asked to perform the Standardized Field Sobriety Test, which he performed poorly. Dent was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department. Once at the police department, Dent submitted to the chemical test for intoxication and his results yielded a .224 g % blood alcohol content. Dent was booked and incarcerated.


Christopher W. Walker, 26 years of age, Address- Cypress Court Gibson, La. was arrested on 08/19/2018 4:42 am.

Charge: Possession of Marijuana

               Improper Lane Usage

     An officer in the area of LA Hwy 182 observed a vehicle cross the center line several times. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Christopher Walker was asked to produce a valid driver’s license. According to reports, while talking to officers, Walker pulled out a small baggie of suspected marijuana from his pants pocket. Walker was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Jail for booking and incarceration.


Jesus M. Barrientos, 54 years of age, Address- Louisa St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/19/2018 @ 2:00 am.

Charge: Driving While Intoxicated 1st Offense
               No Driver’s License
               No Turn Signal
               No Insurance

       A patrol officer in the area of Sixth and Bowman St. observed a vehicle with improper lighting. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Jesus Barrientos was asked to produce a valid driver’s license. A computer check revealed that Barrientos did not have a driver’s license. Reports indicate that Barrientos appeared intoxicated. Barrientos was asked to perform the Standardized Field Sobriety Test, in which he performed poorly. Barrientos was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department. Once at the police department, Barrientos submitted to the chemical test for intoxication and yielded a result of .146 g % blood alcohol content. Barrientos was booked and incarcerated.

Joseph Hart 08192018
Joseph L. Hart, 35 years of age, Address- Versen St. Berwick, La. was arrested on 08/19/2018 @ 1:12 pm.

Charge: Aggravated 2nd Degree Battery

   Officers responded to a residence on Onstead St. in regards to a disturbance. When officers arrived, Joseph Hart was identified as a suspect. According to reports, the victim and Hart had gotten into a verbal altercation which escalated when Hart allegedly pushed the victim through a glass window and then began striking the victim with a wooden object. The victim was transported to a local hospital for his injuries. Hart was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Jail for booking and incarceration.

  
Teddy E. Rodas, 47 years of age, Address- Duson, La. was arrested on 08/19/2018 6:54 pm.

Charge: Careless Operation
               Driving Under Suspension
              No Registration

   Officers responded to US Hwy 90 near the Martin Luther King exit in regards to a single vehicle crash. Officers arrived and made contact with the driver, Teddy Rodas. According to reports, Rodas was traveling in the left lane, lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the guard rail. Rodas suffered no injuries from the crash. Rodas was asked to produce a valid driver’s license, but it was determined that his license was suspended. There was also no insurance on the vehicle or proper registration. Rodas was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Jail for booking and incarceration.


Harry Fluker, 62 years of age, Address- Poplar St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/19/2018 @ 11:03 pm.

Charge: Driving While Intoxicated 1st Offense

               Improper Lane Usage

  A patrol officer in the area of LA Hwy 70 and Victor II Blvd. observed a vehicle make a turn onto LA Hwy 70 going into the opposing lane of travel. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Harry Fluker was asked to produce a valid driver’s license. Reports indicate that the officer could smell an odor of alcohol emitting from Fluker’s breath. Fluker was asked to perform the Standardized Field Sobriety Test, which he performed poorly. Fluker was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department. Once at the police department, Fluker submitted to the chemical test for intoxication and his results yielded a .096 g % blood alcohol content. Fluker was booked and incarcerated.
