MCPD Arrest report for 10/15/2018
Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 72-hour period which began on October 12, 2018 the Morgan City Police Department responded to 136 calls for service. The following person(s) were arrested as a result.
Chad M. Carmouche, 39 years of age, Address-Second St. Morgan City,La was arrested on 10/12/2018 @ 7:21 am.
Charges: Warrant-Failure to Pay Registration Fee
Warrant-Failure to notify Law Enforcement of change address
Officers located Chad Carmouche at a business on Brashear Ave and knew of warrants from the St. Mary Parish Sheriffs office. Carmouche was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City police department for booking.
Clifton Grant III, 31 years of age Address-Jeanerette, La was arrested on 10/12/18 @ 10:13 am
Charges: Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Proper Equipment required on vehicle
No Drivers license on persons
Malik D Phillips, 23 years of age, Address-Jeanerette,La was arrested on 10/12/18 @ 10:13 am.
Charges: Possession of Schedule I(Marijuana) with the intent to distribute over 28 grams
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Illegal use of CDS in the presence of persons under 17 years of age.
Officers stopped a vehicle on Hwy 182 for a traffic violation while speaking with driver identified as Clifton Grant III was asked to produce a drivers license which he did not have with him. While speaking with Grant officer noticed a pill bottle sticking out of his pocket. Grant told officers that he had kept marijuana in the pill bottle. Malik Phillips was identified as a passenger. Officers gained consent to search the vehicle and during the search located a small ice chest inside the vehicle. When officers checked the ice chest they located a plastic bag containing suspected marijuana along with a digital scale. While speaking with Phillips he admitted that the suspected marijuana was his. Both were placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking.
Loretta R. Moore, 45 years of age, Address-Roderick St Morgan City, La was arrested on 10/12/18 @ 12:27 pm

Warrant-Illegal use of CDS in the presence of person under 17
Officers responded to a complaint on Roderick St about an illegally parked vehicle. Officers located the owner of the vehicle Loretta Moore who had active warrants from the Morgan City Police Department. The warrants were the result of an investigation by detectives in to illegal drug activities at a Roderick St residence. That residence was located with 2000 feet of a drug free zone. Moore was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking

Christen J. Brown, 37 years of age, Address Eighth St Morgan City,La was arrested on 10/12/18 @ 6:02 pm.
Charges: Warrant-2 counts Simple Burglary
Warrant- Unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
Officers were called to Teche regional Medical center where they located Carlton and Brown. Officers learned that they both held active warrants for their arrest. Carlton was wanted for Failure to appear in the 16th JDC for court. Brown was wanted by Morgan City Police Department for warrants that stemmed from two separate investigation in which Brown was a suspect. Both were placed under arrest and transported to Morgan City Police Department for booking.

Officers received a call of a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. Officers were able to locate the vehicle and stop it on Sixth St. The driver was asked to produce license a which Stephens stated that she did not have it with her. A computer check showed that Stephens was under suspension. The officer could smell an odor of an alcoholic beverage on Stephens. Stephens was given a field sobriety test which she did poorly on. During the stop Stephens kept yelling profanities after being told to stop. Stephens was also found not to have insurance on her vehicle. Officers also located a container with burnt marijuana ashes inside the vehicle. Stephens was taken to the Morgan City Police Department for a chemical test for intoxication with the results of .146g%. Stephens was booked into the Morgan City Police Department jail.

Obstruction of Justice-Tampering with Evidence
Officers were called to the Morgan City Police Department Jail to assist corrections personnel. Officers learned that Dezzie Booty who came to the Morgan City Police Department to sever time for city court was found to be in possession of several pills. During the investigation Booty was able to destroy the pills which were identified a her prescription medication.

Possession of Alcoholic Beverages in a motor vehicle
Officers in the area of Hwy 182 and Duke St observed a vehicle speeding. The officer checked the vehicle speed with his radar, the driver later identified as Daniel Espinoza was stopped for speeding 52mph in a 35 mph. Upon stopping the vehicle, the officer spoke with Espinoza who stated that he did not have a drivers license. Espinoza was also found to have an open alcoholic beverage in his vehicle.

An officer in the area of Hwy 182 and Ditch Ave observed a vehicle fail to stop for a flashing red signal. The officer made contact with the driver identified as Thomas. Officers learned that Thomas had a warrant from the 16th JDC for failure to appear for speeding. The officer also found Thomas to be driving under suspension. Officers also learned that Thomas’s vehicle was not insured. Thomas was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking. During a search of Thomas after his arrest officers located suspected marijuana on his person.
Kristin M. Aucoin, 25 years of age, Address-Fillmore St. Morgan City,La was arrested on 10/13/18 @ 3:45pm.
Charges:Warrant- Failure to pay probation fees.
Aucoin was located at her residence where she was advised of the warrant for her arrest. Aucoin was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking.

An officer in the area of Halsey St and Hwy 182 observed a vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign or use his turn signal. The officer stopped the driver identified as Dequesse Washington . Officers also learned that Washington’s Mississippi drivers license was suspended. During the investigation drug paraphernalia was located in his vehicle. During the investigation Washington gave several conflicting accounts of his reason to be in the area. Officers had reason to believe the residence Washington had left had illegal Narcotics in it. Officers went to the residence and executed a search warrant. The investigation is ongoing.

Officers located McQuistion at his residence and advised him of the warrant for his arrest. McQuistion was placed under arrest for a warrant for failure to pay probation fees. McQuistion was transported to the Morgan City Police Department.

Offices located Roberson and learned the Morgan City Police Department had warrants for her arrest from City Court of Morgan City for failure to pay probation fees. Roberson was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking.
