MCPD Arrest Report 12/26/2018
Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 48-hour period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 70 calls for service. The following person(s) were arrested as a result beginning on 12/24/2018:
Synthia Berry, 39 years of age, Address-Elaine St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 12/24/2018 @ 2:09 pm.
Charge: Remaining After Being Forbidden
Officers responded to a business on LA Hwy 70 in regards to an individual that had been previously banned from the property. Officers arrived and spoke with management, who identified Synthia Berry as the individual not allowed on the property. Officers made contact with Berry and placed under arrest and she was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Charles J. Boles, 40 years of age, Address-Jennie Dr. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 12/24/2018 @ 6:52 pm.
Charge: Disturbing the Peace Offensive Language
Officers responded to the area of Federal Ave. and Marshal St. in regards to individual yelling profanities and racial slurs in the middle of the roadway. Officers arrived and located the individual identified as Charles Boles. Reports indicate that Boles appeared to be under the influence of some type of narcotic. Boles was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Caleb R. Givens, 17 years of age, Address-Fourth St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 12/24/2018 @ 10:15 pm.

Resisting an Officer
Officers responded to Wren St. in regards to a disturbance. When officers arrived Caleb Givens was identified as causing the disturbance. As officers made contact with Givens, he began to resist officers but he was later subdued. Givens was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
James Alfred, 40 years of age, Address-LA Hwy 182 Morgan City, La. was arrested on 12/25/2018 @ 1:14 pm.
Charge: Warrant-Failure to Return Leased Merchandise
James Alfred was located at his residence on LA Hwy 182 and placed under arrest for an active warrant he held for the Morgan City Police Department. Alfred was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Ricardo Zermeno, 20 years of age, Address-Aycock St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 12/25/2018 4:07 am.
Charge: Simple Assault
Disturbing the Peace Intoxicated
Officers responded to a business on LA Hwy 70 in regards to a disturbance. Officers arrived and spoke to a staff member, who identified Ricardo Zermeno as the one yelling profanities and making threatening statements to the staff members. Officers made contact with Zermeno who appeared intoxicated. Zermeno was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Terrence M. Bergeron, 29 years of age, Address-Railroad Ave. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 12/25/2018 @ 1:17 pm.
Charge: Driving Under Suspension

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
An officer in the area of Third St. and Railroad Ave. observed a vehicle with only one functioning tail light. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Terrence Bergeron was asked to produce a valid driver’s license. A computer check revealed that Bergeron’s license was under suspension. The officer also located suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia in Bergeron’s possession. Bergeron was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Charles Rich, 73 years of age, Address- LA Hwy 182 Morgan City, La. was arrested on 12/25/2018 @ 4:16 pm.
Charge: Disturbing the Peace Intoxicated
Simple Battery
Officers responded to a business on Seventh St. in regards to a disturbance.
Officers arrived and spoke to management, who stated an individual had come into the business and had gotten upset about an item he wanted to purchase. The individual then committed a battery on one of the employees. A description of the individual was given to officers and he was located on Brashear Ave. Officers made contact with the individual identified as Charles Rich. Reports indicate that Rich appeared intoxicated. Rich was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Broderick D. Junifer, 29 years of age, Address-Federal Ave. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 12/26/2018 @ 12:47 am.

An officer on Brashear Ave. observed a vehicle fail to use its turn signal while changing lanes. The officer attempted to make a traffic stop but the vehicle continued traveling onto Federal Ave at a high rate of speed. The vehicle then stopped near Marshal St. where the driver fled the vehicle. The driver was apprehended a short time later and identified as Broderick Junifer. Junifer was found to be in possession of suspected cocaine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Officers also located a 9mm handgun on Junifer’s person. The area Junifer was located was within 2000 feet of an elementary school which is considered a drug free zone. Junifer was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
