MCPD Arrest Report 3/11/2019
Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 72-hour period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 107 calls of service. The following person(s) were arrested as the result beginning on 3/8/2019:
Kyle Joseph Benoit, 26 years of age, Address-Victor II Blvd., Morgan City, La., was arrested on 3/8/2019 @ 11:45 A.M.
Charge: Possession of Marijuana (1st Offense)
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Officers of the Morgan City Police Department responded to a complaint on Victor II. Upon their arrival, they detected an odor of marijuana. Detectives with the Morgan City Police Department obtained a search warrant for the residence identified as Kyle Benoit. Officers located suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was placed under arrested and transported to Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Rebecca Martin, 47 years of age, Address-Fifth St., Morgan City, La., was arrested on 3/8/2019 @ 1:07 P.M.
Charge: Entering or Remaining after Forbidden
Officers were dispatched to a Willard St. address in reference to a subject refusing to leave the property. Officers arrived and they were advised by the complainant Rebecca Martin refused to leave the property. Officer made contact with Martin who also refused to leave after being advised by officers. She was placed under arrest and transported to Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Abel Gonzales, 27 years of age, Address-Private Rd., Natalia Tx., was arrested on 3/9/2019 @ 3:01 A.M.
Charge: Possession of Marijuana (1st Offense)
Possession of an Alcoholic Beverage in a Motor Vehicle
Officers were dispatched to the area of HWY 182 in reference to a reckless driver. Responding officers were advised the vehicle had pulled into a local business parking lot on HWY 182. Officers located the vehicle and driver, Abel Gonzales, in the parking lot when they arrived. During the traffic investigation, officers located suspected marijuana and an open alcoholic beverage inside his vehicle. He was placed under arrested and transported to Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Lisa Ann Willis, 52 years of age, Address-Egle St., Morgan City, La., was arrested on 3/9/2019 @ 4:30 A.M.
Charge: Possession of Marijuana (1st Offense)
Officers investigating a vehicle crash on Veterans Blvd. near Levee Rd. came into contact with Lisa A. Willis. During the officer's investigation, they located suspected marijuana in Willis possession. She was placed under arrested and transported to Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Billi Driskell Velasquez, 43 years of age, Address-Village Lane, Amelia, La., was arrested on 3/9/2019 @ 1:52 P.M.
Charge: Disturbing the Peace Intoxicated

Resisting an Officer- False Information
Resisting an Officer
Officers were dispatched to a Roderick St. apartment complex in reference to a female under the influence in the parking lot. Officer arrived and came into contact with Billie D Velasquez who initially gave a false name. During the encounter, Velasquez attempted to discard a bag containing suspected methamphetamine. She pulled away from officers as they attempted to arrest her. She was handcuffed and suspected Seroquel and Mirtazapine was also located in her possession. She was transported to Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Tiffany Nicole Chauvin, 35 years of age, Address-Aucoin St., Morgan City, La., was arrested on 3/9/2019 @ 4:37 P.M.
Charge: Probation Violation
Officers came into contact with Tiffany Chauvin on Aucoin St. Officers learned of an active warrant for her arrest held by City Court of Morgan City. She was placed under arrested and transported to the Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Marie A Franklin, 31 years of age, Address-Park St., Morgan City, La., was arrested on 3/9/2019 @ 6:07 P.M.
Charge: Warrant-Theft under $1,000.00
Officers came into contact with Marie A. Franklin on Marguerite St. Officers learned City Court of Morgan City held an active warrant for her arrest. She was placed under arrest and transported to Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Kayley Michelle Giroir, 18 years of age, Address-River Rd., Berwick, La., was arrested on 3/9/2019 at 6:54 P.M.
Charge: Hit and Run
Officers investigating a hit and run crash on Levee Rd. learned Keyley M. Giroir was the driver of the vehicle that left the scene. Officers located Giroir on Pecan St. She was placed under arrest and transported to Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Brandon J Walker, 32 years of age, Address-Red Cypress Rd., Patterson, La., was arrested on 3/9/2019 @ 11:31 P.M.
Charge: Disturbing the Peace
Officers were dispatched to a business on HWY 182 in reference to a person causing a disturbance. Upon officers arriving, they were advised Brandon Walker was the person causing the disturbance. Officers located Walker in the parking and was placed under arrest. He was transported to Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Kimberly Michelle Segura, 29 years of age, Address- Orleans Ave, New Orleans, La., was arrested on 3/10/2019 @ 12:40 A.M.
Charge: Simple Battery
Officers were dispatched to a Brashear Ave. business in reference to fight. Upon officers arriving, they learned Kimberly M. Segura committed battery on another person inside the business. She was placed under arrest and transported to Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Rena Kathleen Wilson, 40 years of age, Address-Snead St., Berwick, La., was arrested on 3/10/2019 @ 3:17 A.M.
Charge: Possession of Schedule IV (Xanax)

Officers came into contact with Rena Wilson at a business on HWY 182. Officers learned of an active warrant for her arrest held by City Court of Morgan City. She was placed under arrest and suspected Xanax was located in her possession. She was transported to the Morgan City Police Department and Booked and incarcerated.
Erik Benjamin Carter, 28 years of age, Address-Mallard St., Morgan City, La., was arrested on 3/10/2019 @ 10:55 P.M.
