MCPD Arrest report for 03/20/2019

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 30 calls for service. The following person(s) were arrested as a result beginning on 03/19/2019:

Patrick Courville, 60 years of age, Reno St Pierre Part, La was arrested on 03/19/2018 @ 11:37 am

Charges: Disturbing the Peace -Offensive Language
                 Simple Assault

On March 19, 2019 Officers were called to a local business due to an ex-employee causing a disturbance.  Officers arrived and spoke with witnesses who told them the Courville had come back to the business to retrieve some of his belongings.  Once back at the business Courville started to use obscene language and threaten a worker at the business.  Officers placed Courville under arrest and transported him to the Morgan City Police Department for booking.


Keyanne Verdin, 30 years of age, Cathleen St. Patterson, La was arrested on 03/19/2019 @ 12:22 pm

Charges: Domestic Abuse Child-Endangerment
                   Criminal Damage to Property under $1000.00

Officers were called to a Franklin St. residence due to a disturbance.  Officers spoke with the victim who stated that Ms. Verdin came to his residence and they started to argue after he asked her to leave.  During the argument, Ms. Verdin attacked the victim.  Officers noticed that the victim had scratches and marks around the neck and face area.  The victim also stated that Ms. Verdin damaged his cellular phone.  Officers also learned that juvenile was present at the residence.  Ms. Verdin was located a short time later and placed under arrest.


Wilber Richard Jr., 35 years of age, Murial St. Morgan City,La was arrested on 03/19/2019 @ 1:08 pm

Charges: Warrant-Domestic Abuse Battery-Strangulation
                   Warrant-Contempt of Court City Court Morgan City
                   Warrant-Driving under Suspension

Wilber Richard Jr was transported from the Eunice Police Department and booked into the Morgan City Police Department jail on the above warrants.
The warrant for Domestic Abuse stems from a July 2018 complaint in which Richard Jr. was alleged to have attacked the victim during which time placed his hands around her neck and choked her.  Officers were unable to locate Richard Jr at that time and filed warrants for his arrest.  Richard Jr. also had warrants from City Court of Morgan City.



Matthew Mote, 21 years of age, Fifth St. Morgan City was arrested on 03/19/2019 @ 7:28 pm

Charge: Aggravated Assault

Officers were called to a Willard St. address due to a disturbance.  Officer learned that one of the subjects involved had left the scene.  Officers located that person and brought him back to the scene where they learned that he was involved in a disturbance.  During the disturbance, Matthew Mote allegedly threatened the subject with a knife. Officer did locate a knife on Mr. Mote and placed him under arrest for aggravated assault.  Mote was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking.
