Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 37 calls of service. The following person(s) were arrested as the result beginning on 4/24/2019:
Shane Paul Scully, 30 years of age, Grizzaffi St., Morgan City, La., was arrested on 4/24/2019 @ 2:12 P.M. Charge: Warrant: Theft over $1,000.00 to 5,000.00
Shane P. Scully turned himself into Morgan City Police Department on an active warrant held by Morgan City Police Department. He was booked and incarcerated.
Jonicia Keara Polidore, 27 years of age, Address-12th St., Franklin, La., was arrested on 4/24/2019 @ 11:07 P.M. Charge: Improper Lane Usage

Possession of Marijuana
An officer observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation on HWY 182. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was identified as Jonicia Polidore. During the traffic stop, the officer could detect the odor of suspected marijuana emitting from the vehicle. A police K-9 was summoned to the traffic stop and was deployed around the exterior of the vehicle. The K-9 confirmed the presence of suspected marijuana. A search was conducted and suspected marijuana was located. Polidore interfered with officers while officers were attempting to collect the suspected marijuana. She was placed under arrest and transported to Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
