Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 40 calls of service. The following person(s) were arrested as the result beginning on 4/30/2019:
Garland Joseph Romero, 31 years of age, Address-Bernice St., Morgan City, La., was arrested on 4/29/2019 @ 8:37 A.M.
Charge: Warrant-Failure to Appear
Officers located Garland J. Romero on Bernice St. on an active warrant held by City Court of Morgan City. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Laqwajhia Bourgeois, 21 years of age, Address-Federal Ave., Morgan City, La., was arrested on 4-29-2019 @ 3:18 P.M.

An officer observed a vehicle commit several traffic violations and conducted a traffic stop on HWY LA 70. The driver was identified as Laqwajhia Bourgeois. During the traffic stop, Bourgeois refused to comply with officers and cause a disturbance by using loud profanities. She was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Dontreka Marshrieka Tillman, 22 years of age, Address-Grizzaffi St., Morgan City, La., was arrested on 4/29/2019 @ 4:50 P.M.
Charge: Warrants-Home Invasion
Criminal Damage to Property less than $1,000.00 (2 Counts)
Officers came into contact with Dontreka Tillman on Marguerite St. A warrant's check revealed Morgan City Police Department held active warrants for her arrest. The warrants stem from an incident on February 21, 2019. The complainant alleges Dontreka Tillman entered a Cardinal St. address armed with a knife and damaged several items on the property. A warrant for her arrest was obtained from the February incident. She was placed under arrest on the active warrant and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Kane Alexander Wiggins, 26 years of age, Address-HWY 182, Morgan City, La., was arrested on 4-29-2019 @ 8:15 P.M.
Charge: Disturbing the Peace Intoxicated
Officers were dispatched to a Ninth St. business in reference to an intoxicated person causing a disturbance. Upon officers arriving they came into contact with Kane Alexander Wiggins who was passed out inside the business. Officers could smell a strong odor of alcohol on his breath and suspected impairment. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
