Arrest Report 05/05/2014

The following persons were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning 05/02/2014:

 

 

Carlven C. Chapman, 37 years of age, Address-Louisiana St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 05/02/2014 @11:13 am

Charge: Domestic Abuse Battery

     Officers were dispatched to the area of Myrtle St. and Highway 182 in regards to a disturbance.  When officers arrived, a Berwick Police Officer, who was already on the scene advised that he had witnessed a vehicle being driven in a wreckless manner suddenly stop at whcih time the front seat passenger then reached around, striking a female subject who was seated in the back seat.  The subject was detained until officers arrived.  The suspect was identified as Carlven Chapman.  The female victim was found to be seated next to a small child who was restrained in the rear seat at the time of the assault.  Chapman was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated. 

 

Natasha Bergeron, 28 years of age, Address-Mount St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 05/02/2014 @ 3:30pm

Charge: Warrant: Probation Violation

     Natasha Bergeron was located at the Patterson Police Department where she was placed under arrest on an outstanding warrant for the Morgan City Police Department.  She was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked into the jail facility there.  

 

Mark A. Eugene, 49 years of age, Address-Terrebone St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 05/02/2014 @ 6:24pm

Charge: Criminal Trespassing

     The Morgan City Police Department received information that Mark Eugene was trespassing on Housing Authority property near Terrebone St.  Eugene, who had been previously barred from entering onto Federal Housing Authority Property was located inside the area, he was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated. 


Sandra L. Shackleford, 44 years of age, Address-Wedell St. Patterson, La. was arrested on 05/02/2014 @ 9:59pm

Charge: Disturbing the Peace Intoxicted; Resisting an Officer; Warrant-Assumption Parish-Failure to Appear for Driving While Intoxicated

     Officers were dispatched to a Chester Bowles address regarding a disturbance.  When officers arrived they encountered two females involved in an arguement.  While trying to investigate the incident, Shackleford, who appeared intoxicated began to use loud, profane and abusive language.  She refused to calm and comply with officers instructions to cease.  As officers attempted to place Shackleford under arrest, she began to physically resist and had to be restrained.  She was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she refused to comply and had to be physically restrained to be placed in a holding cell until she could be processed.  Sandra Shackleford was also found to be wanted on an outstanding warrant for the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated. 


Adam W. Roy, 27 years of age, Address-Onstead St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 05/03/2014 @ 3:20am

Charge: Resisting an Officer by Giving False Information; Warrant: St. Mary Sheriff's Department-Failure to Appear for Criminal Neglect of Family; Warrant: Patterson Police Department-Failure to Appear-Speeding; No Driver's License on Person

     Officers  patrolling the area of Highway 182 stopped a vehicle near Seventh St. and Brashear Ave. for improper equipment.  The driver, Adam Roy admittedly made attempts to conceal his true identity to officers.  It was discovered that Roy was wanted on outstanding warrants for other agencies.  He was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated. 

 

 Alfonso Reyes, 28 years of age, Address-Halsey St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 05/03/2014 @ 12:25pm

Charge: Hit & Run Driving; Careless Operation; Possession of Alcoholic Beverage in Motor Vehicle

     A patrolling officer observed a vehicle crash near the intersection of Myrtle St. and Railroad Ave. observed a vehicle crash.  One of the vehicles began to leave the scene.  The officer summoned assistance, checking on the remaining vehicle and it's occupants.  The officer then pursued the vehicle as it left the scene.  The driver refused to yield to the emergency vehicle and a short pursuit ensued.  The vehicle became disabled as a result of damages sustained in the accident.  The driver, who refused to exit his vehicle was removed and detained.  He was identified as Alfonso Reyes.  Reyes was arrested and handcuffed.  A passenger in the vehicle, who was uninjured was also detained during the investigation.  Officers located an open container of alcoholic beverage inside the subjects vehicle.  He was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.  There were no major injuries in the accident.  The subject was booked and incarcerated. 



Joshua J. Naverro, 22 years of age, Address-Wise St. Patterson, La. was arrested on 05/03/2014 @ 10:17pm

Charge: Improper Display of License Plate; Possession of Alcoholic Beverage in Motor Vehicle; Warrant: St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office-Failure to Appear for Trial (Two Counts)

     A patrolling officer observed a vehicle with improper lighting in the area of Seventh St. near Florence and stopped the vehicle to investigate.  The driver of the vehicle, identified as Joshua Naverro was found to be wanted on outstanding warrants for the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Department.  He was also found to be in possession of alcoholic beverage in his motor vehicle.  He was arrested transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated. 


Primos H. Ross Jr, 58 years of age, Address-Railroad Ave. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 05/04/2014 @ 12:13am

Charge: Battery on a Police Officer; Resisting an Officer; Warrant: East Baton Rouge-Felony Theft, Monetary Instrument Abuse, Warrant: Morgan City Police Department-Failure to Pay  Fine; Failure to Pay Probation Fee; Probation Violation

Primos H. Ross 05042014

     Officers were dispatched to a Railroad Ave. regarding a disturance.  As officers arrived, they encountered a subject, Primos Ross who was wanted on outstanding warrants for the Morgan City Police Department.  Officers attempted to place Ross under arrest on the warrants.  During the arrest, Ross became combative and unruly, kicking an officer.  Ross was found to be wanted on outstanding warrants for East Baton Rouge Parish.  He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was placed in a holding cell due to his combative nature.  He remains incarcerated. 


Lisa Jones, 51 years of age, Address-Glenwood St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 05/04/2014 @ 10:04am

Charge: Simple Battery

     Officers responded to a complaint of a female in the area of a Highway 182 lounge who was soliciting others in an act of prostitution.  Officers arrived and were advised that the female had fled the scene.  The description of the female was given and the female located and identified as Lisa Jones.  In the investigation, it was learned that the female shoved the complainant and fled the area.  She was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated.
