MCPD Arrest Report for 6/28/2019

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 39 calls of service. The following person(s) were arrested as the result beginning on 6/27/2019:
gregory williams

Gregory Williams, 60 years of age, Address-HWY 182, Morgan City, La., was arrested on 6/27/2019 @ 8:20 A.M. 

Charge: Theft under $1,000.00

Officers responded to a business on HWY 182 in reference to a theft. The caller advised a person concealed merchandise valued at $13.07 on their person before exiting the business without paying for the items. Officers were able to locate the person matching the description walking on HWY 182. He was identified as Gregory and the stolen items were located in his possession. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration. 

Heather Ann Spencer, 38 years of age, Address-Bowman St., Morgan City, La., was arrested on 6/27/2019 @ 2:47 P.M. 

Charge: Warrants-Failure to Appear (5 Counts)

Officers came into contact with Heather A. Spencer on LA 70. A warrants check revealed City Court of Morgan City held active warrants for her arrest. She was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Jacob Alexander Rhodes, 20 years of age, Address-Tupelo St., Morgan City, La., was arrested on 6/28/2019 @ 1:30 A.M. 

Charge: No Headlights
               Possession of Marijuana over 14 grams (1st Offense)

Jason Thomas Vining, 20 years of age, Address-Louisa St., Morgan City, La., was arrested on 6/28/2019 @ 1:30 A.M.

Charge: Possession of Marijuana over 28 grams (2nd Offense) 
 
An officer on patrol observed a traffic violation in the area of Brashear Ave. and 4th St. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was identified as Jacob A. Rhodes and his passenger was identified as Jason T. Vining. During the traffic stop, both Rhodes and Vining were found in possession of suspected marijuana. Both Rhodes and Vining were placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
