MCPD Arrest Report for 7/9/2019
Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 39 calls of service. The following person(s) were arrested as the result beginning on 7/8/2019:
Davontraye Jacoby Johnson, 24 years of age, Address-HWY 182, Berwick, La., was arrested on 7/8/2019 @ 12:10 P.M.
Charge: Warrants- Sexual Battery ( 3 Counts )
Contempt of Court ( 2 Counts )
A patrol officer came into contact with Davontraye J. Johnson on Egle St. A computer check revealed Morgan City Police Department and City Court of Morgan City held active warrants for his arrest. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
The sexual battery warrant stems from an investigation conducted by Detectives with the Morgan City Police Department. On June 27th, 2019, Detectives began investigating a complaint filed with the Morgan City Police Department in reference to Davontraye J. Johnson committing a sexual battery on a juvenile victim. During the course of the investigation, Detectives learned Davontraye J. Johnson had committed a sexual battery on three separate occasions from December 2018 to June 2019. At the conclusion of the investigation, Detectives obtained a warrant for Davondtraye J. Johnson arrest.
