MCPD Arrest report for 07/15/2019

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 82-hour period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 284 calls for service. The following person(s) were arrested as a result beginning on 07/12/2019:

Michael Fuselier, 50 years of age, Allison St. Morgan City, La was arrested on 07/12/2019 at 8:26 am

Charges: Warrant-Driving while intoxicated
                   Warrant-Careless Operation

Officers located Michael Fuselier at his residence on Allison St.  Fuselier was arrested on warrants from a 2012 vehicle crash in which he was identified as the driver but due to injuries at the time was not arrested.  Blood and urine samples were taken from Fuselier and sent to the crime lab.  Toxicology reports showed that Fuselier was intoxicated at the time of the crash and warrants were filed for his arrest.


Mark Broussard Jr., 29 years of age, Vivan St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 07/13/2019 at 12:45 pm.

Charges: Possession of Schedule II(Methamphetamine)
                   Resisting an Officer

Officers were called on the area of North First St. due to a subject waving a gun or knife making threats.  Officer arrived in the area an observed subject who fled when officers attempted to speak with him.  Officers chased the subject in the area and caught him in the area of Front St. and Franklin St. Officers located a bag with suspected Methamphetamine in his pocket along with a knife.  Broussard was taken to the Morgan City Police Department for booking.

Jordan Steele, 39 years of age, Hwy 182 Morgan City, La was arrested on 07/14/2019 @ 1:28 am

                 Proclamation of State of Emergency Conditions(Curfew)

Officers observed a vehicle cross Hwy 182 with no lights on in the area of Redwood St. Officers searched the area and located a jeep behind a business on Sandra St.   Officers began to search the area and located Jordan Steele walking behind the business.  Steel was found to be in possession of a knife, a crescent wrench and several pairs of latex gloves.  As officers continued to search the area they located Toups hiding behind and air conditioning unit.  Toups was detained and officers spoke with both subjects.  Both Toups and Steele gave a different reason as to why they were at a closed business.  Both Steele and Toups were placed under arrest which occurred during the time of the mandatory curfew due to the state of emergency during Hurricane Barry.

                 Warrant-Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
                 Warrant-FTA for Trial on Improper Lane use
                 Warrant-FTA for Trial on Improper Lighting

Officers stopped a vehicle for failing to stop at an inoperative traffic light.  Upon speaking with the female driver officers observed what they believed to be suspected marijuana in the car.  Upon speaking with the driver and passenger they admitted that the item was suspected marijuana.  Mr. Weston admitted that the marijuana was in fact his.  Weston also had outstanding warrant fro the Cit Court of Morgan City.  Weston was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking.


Galen Ford, 27 years of age, Ditch Ave Morgan City, La. was arrested on 07/14/2019 at 11:21 am

Charges:  Warrant FTA 16th JDC-Possession of Alprazolam
                  Warrant FTA  16th JDC-Possession of Diazepam
                  Warrant FTA 16th JDC-Expired Inspection Sticker
                  Warrant FTA 16th JDC-No Insurance
                  Warrant FTA City Court of Morgan City-6 counts Contempt of                         
                                      Court

Galen Ford was located the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's office and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for where he was arrested on Warrants from the 16th JDC and the City Court of Morgan City. Ford was booked into the Morgan City Police Department Jail.
