MCPD arrest report for 09/05/2019

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour period the Morgan City Police Department responded 45 to calls for service. The following person(s) were arrested as a result beginning on 09/05/2019:

Ju'Kobie Matthews, 18 years of age, Wren St. Morgan City, La was arrested on 09/05/2019 at 10:45 am

Charges: Battery on a School Teacher
                   Disturbing the Peace

Matthews was arrested after officers responded to a call of a battery on a school teacher.  Officers learned that Matthews was involved in a verbal confrontation with another student.  As a teacher attempted to separate the students Matthews grabbed the teacher.  Mattews was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking.

Sonya Rebardi, 49 years of age, Railroad Ave, Morgan City, La was arrested on 09/05/22019 at 6:06 pm

Charges: Theft Under $1000.00

Officers were investigating a shoplifting complaint at a Hwy 182 business when they identified Sonya Rebardi as one of the suspects.  Officers were able to locate Rebardi and went to a Railroad Ave to speak with a second suspect Dawn Height.  As officers went to speak with Height they saw her look out of the front window and run.  A male subject, identified as Timothy Tindell then answered the door.  Height was detained at which time officers noticed suspected methamphetamine.  Officers were able to obtain a search warrant for the residence and also located suboxone.  All of the subjects were placed under arrest and transported to Morgan City PD for booking.
