Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour period the Morgan City Police Department responded 42 to calls for service. The following person(s) were arrested as a result beginning on 09/09/2019:
Ryan Vaughn, 35 years of age, Katelyn St., Shriever, La was arrested on 09/09/2019 at 4:50 am

Lawrence Garrett, 23 years of age, Railroad Alley, Gibson, La was arrested on 09/09/52019 at 4:50 am

Officers were called to a Hwy 182 business due to possible drug activity. Officers were given a description of a vehicle which they located at the business. Officers located Ryan Vaughn and Lawrence Garrett. Officers learned that both subjects had outstanding warrants at which time they were both placed under arrest. Officers located suspected drug paraphernalia in property belonging to Vaughn. Garrett was found to be in possession of suspected Synthetic Marijuana found on him during a search. Both subjects were placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking.

Officers located Daigle at a Federal Ave residence at which time officers knew of warrants for his arrest. Daigle was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking.
Surgio Sumano-Garcia, 55years of age, Second St. Morgan City, was arrested on 09/09/2019 at 7:33 pm
Charges: Driving While Intoxicated 1st
Reckless Operation of a Vehicle
Detectives on Hwy 182 noticed a male subject in a vehicle yelling at them. Detectives noticed that the subject appeared to have slurred speech. Detectives saw the vehicle cross the center line and swerving between the two lanes of travel. Detectives stopped the driver who was identified as Garcia. Garcia seemed intoxicated and did poorly on a field sobriety test. Garcia was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he submitted to a breath sample with the results of 0175 g%. Garcia was arrested an booked in the jail.

Detectives patrolling the area of Brashear Ave came into contact with Demarco knowing that he had outstanding warrants. Officers arrested Demarco on the outstanding warrants and during a search found him to be in possession of syringes and suspect methamphetamine. The warrants stemmed from a previous narcotics investigation
