Morgan City Police Deploy Narcan in a Lifesaving Measure

Morgan City Police Department received a call for medical assistance on Arenz St. When officers arrived, they located an unresponsive person inside the residence. Officers were advised by a witness they suspected the individual had overdosed on heroin.

Officers with the Morgan City Police Department immediately began to administer Narcan in lifesaving measure. Medical personnel arrived on the scene and subsequently administered several more doses of Narcan and was able to resuscitate and transport them to an area hospital.

While the officers were on scene, they observed suspected narcotics in plain view. Detectives with the Morgan City Narcotics Division obtain a search warrant for the residence. During the search, Detectives located a large quantity of suspected Alprazolam (Xanax) packaged for sales. Detectives also located suspected heroin, methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and a firearm. A small child was inside the residence and located within a drug-free zone at the time of the investigation.
During the investigation, Detectives identified Olivia Guarisco as a suspect and placed her under arrest. This investigation is still ongoing and further arrest are pending in this case.

Olivia Guarisco, 26 years of age, Address-Arenz St., Morgan City, la., was arrested on 2/12/2019 @ 2:33 A.M.

               Possession of Drug Paraphernalia 
               Illegal use of CDS in the Presence of a Juvenile 
               Possession of Firearm in the Presence of CDS
               Violation of Uniform CDS Law-Drug Free Zone
