MCPD Arrest Report 11/01/2019
Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 38 calls of service. The following person(s) were arrested as the result beginning on 11/01/2019:
Chad Evans Gros, 45 years of age, Address-Stephensville Rd., Morgan City, La., was arrested on 10/31/2019 @ 2:13 P.M.
Charge: Fugitive
Chad Evans Gros was located in City Court of Morgan City and placed under arrest for a warrant from St. Martin Parish. He was booked and incarcerated at the Morgan City Police Department.
Jessie Cephur Davis, 27 years of age, Address-Duke St., Morgan City, La. was arrested on 10/31/2019 @ 6:03 P.M.
Warrants: Failure to Appear to Pay Fine (12 Counts)
Failure to Appear to Pay Probation Fee
An officer investigated a trespassing complaint on Marshall St. came into contact with Jessie C. Davis. A warrant check revealed City Court held active warrants for his arrest. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Gerald Wayne Crooks, 58 years of age, Address-General Hodges, Morgan City, La., was arrested on 10/31/2019 @ 7:33 P.M.
Charge: Aggravated Battery
Disturbing the Peace Fighting.
Officers were called to a residence on General Hodges for a disturbance. When officers arrived they learned two individuals were involved in a fistic encounter with one another. One of the parties involved was identified as Gerald W. Cooks. During the altercation Cooks struck a person with a chair causing the person to seek medical attention. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Ryan Jacob Bergeron, 19 years of age, Address-Gloria St., Thibodaux, La., was placed under arrested on 10/31/2019 @ 10:46 P.M.
Charge: possession of Marijuana (1st Offense)
An officer patrolling the area of Front St. and Greenwood St. observed a vehicle parked in front of a closed business that was occupied by two individuals. The officer made contact with the occupants of the vehicle at which time the officer detected a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. The driver was identified as Ryan Bergeron and was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration
Brandon Michael Collier, 24 years of age, Address-Orange St., Morgan City, La. was arrested on 11/01/2019 @ 12:40 A.M.
Charge: Driving under Suspension
An officer on patrol observed a traffic violation in the area of Brashear Ave. and Seventh St. The officer conducted a traffic stop and identified the driver as Brandon Collier. A computer check revealed his driver's license was under suspension. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Martin Perez-Bibian, 23 years of age, Address-Lenny's Lane, Morgan City, La., was arrested on 11/01/2019 @ 3:09 A.M.
Charge: Reckless Operation
Driving While Intoxicated I1st Offense)
Officers were called to the area of U.S. 90 and Highway 182 in reference to a reckless driver. Responding officers located the vehicle traveling east on U.S. 90 traveling 85 MPH in a 70 MPH zone. The officer conducted a traffic stop and identified the driver as Martin Perez-Bibian. During the traffic investigation, it was learned that Martin Perez-Bibian had stuck a section of the Highway 182 bridge as he crossed the Atchafalaya River. The officer suspected driver impairment and placed him under arrest. He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department. Once at the Morgan Cty Police Department Martin Perez-Bibian was given a standardized field sobriety test which he performed poorly on. He was given an intoxilyzer test and submitted a breath sample of 0.156%. He was booked and incarcerated.
