MCPD Arrest Report 11/07/2019
Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 47 calls of service. The following person(s) were arrested as the result beginning on 11/6/2019:
Joseph Young, 50 years of age, Address-Railroad Ave, Patterson, La., was arrested on 11/6/2019 @ 3:26 P.M.
Charge: Theft under $1,000.00

Unauthorized Entry into an Inhabited Dwelling
Officers were called to a local business on Highway 182 about a shoplifter. When officers arrived, they informed the shoplifter fled on foot. While officers were in the area, they were informed the shoplifter had forced his way into a nearby residence. Officers located the shoplifter, identified as Joseph Young, hiding inside the residence. When officers attempted to arrest Young he began to physically resist officers. Officers were able to secure Young in handcuffs and place him under arrest. The investigation revealed Young had concealed several items valued at $100.00 on his person while in the store. A store employee attempted to stop Young from leaving the store at which time Young committed a battery on the employee before fleeing the store. Young was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Naomi Beth Pitre, 34 years of age, Address-Highway 192, Morgan City, La., was arrest on 11/6/2019 @ 6:43 P.M.
Charges: Theft under $1,000.00
Possession of Schedule II-Methamphetamine
Possession of Schedule V-Xanax
Officers were called to a local business on Seventh St about a shoplifter. Upon officers arriving, they were advised by store employees they witnessed Naomi Pitre concealing merchandise on her person. Upon the officer making contact with Naomi, they found stolen merchandise concealed on her person. She was also found in possession of suspected methamphetamine and Xanax. She was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Courtney Marie Schahn, 23 years of age, Address-Arenz St., Morgan City, La., was arrested on 11/6/2019 @ 6:48 P.M.
Charges: Possession of Schedule I - Heroin

Violation of a Drug-Free Zone
Illegal use of CDS in the Presence of a Person under 17 years of age
Jerron Jamal Granger, 30 years of age, Address-Arenz St., Morgan City, La., was arrested on 11/06/2019 @ 6:48 P.M
Charge: Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Detectives with the Morgan City Narcotics Divison executed a search warrant at an Arenz St. residence with the assistance of St. Mary Sheriff's Office Narcotics Division. During the execution of the search warrant, investigators located Courtney Schahn, Jerron J. Granger and a small infant inside the residence. Investigators located suspected heroin and drug paraphernalia the possession of Schahn. Grander was found to be in possession of suspected drug paraphernalia. The residence was located within a drug-free zone. Schahn and Granger were placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Larry Garrett Barnett, 40 years of age, Address-Sixth St., Morgan City, La. was arrested on 11/6/2019 @ 9:01 P.M.
Charges: Domestic Abuse Child Endangerment
Aggravated Assault
Officers were called to a Sixth St. residence about a domestic disturbance. When the officer arrived, they learned Larry Barnett had threated the victim with a knife in front of a small child. Bernett was located at the residence and placed under arrest. He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
John Washington, 64 years of age, Address-Sixth St., Morgan City, La., was arrested on 11/06/2019 @ 10:36 P.M.
Charge: Possession with the Intent to Distribute Marijuana
Officers investigating a suspicious person complaint on Mallard St. came into contact with John Washington. During the officer's investigation, Washington was found in possession of suspected marijuana that was packaged for sales. Washington was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Jill M Parker, 45 years of age, Address-Two Brothers Lane, Morgan City, La., was arrested on 11/7/2019 @ 12:15 A.M.

Failure to Appear (3 counts)
Officers came into contact with Jill Parker at a local motel on Highway 182. A warrant check revealed City Court of Morgan City and 16th District Court held active warrants. She was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration
