MCPD Arrest Report for 11/8/2019
Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 28 calls of service. The following person(s) were arrested as the result beginning on 11/7/2019:
Brandon Anthony Randolph, 22 years of age, Address-Darcy Lane, Franklin, La., was arrest on 11/7/2019 @ 4:52 P.M.

Armed Robbery with Use of a Firearm
On September 22, 2019, the Morgan City Police Department received a complaint in reference to a shooting in the area of Mallard St. When officers arrived, they learned one victim was shot and transported to an area hospital with a non-life threating gunshot wound. During the course of the investigation, Detectives discovered the victim was shot during the course of an armed robbery. Investigators developed Brandon A. Randolph as a suspect involved in the crime and obtained an arrest warrant.
On 11/7/2019 Randolph was located at the Franklin Police Department on an active warrant held by Morgan City Police Department. He was placed under arrest and transported back to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Jamichael D. Bowie, 29 years of age, Address-Highway 182, Morgan City, La., was arrested on 11/7/2019 @ 12:21 A.M.
Warrant: Failure to Appear
Jamichael D. Bowie was located at the Berwick Police Department and placed under arrest on an active warrant held by the City Court of Morgan City. He was placed under arrest and transported back to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Jose Angel Melendez-Dazilia. 33 years of age, Address-Sebby Lane, Morgan City, La., was arrested on 11/8/2019 @ 4:49 A.M.
Warrant: First Degree Murder-Jones County Mississippi
On 11/7/2019 Morgan City Detectives was contacted by Investigators from St. Mary Sheriff's Office in reference to receiving information about Jose Angel Melendez-Dazilla possibly being in the Morgan City Area. Jose Angel Melendez-Dazilla was currently wanted for First Degree Murder in Jones County in Mississippi. Investigators learned of an address on 8th St. in Morgan City Jose Angel Melendez-Dazilla frequently visit. Investigators from the Morgan City Police Department, St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office and the U.S. Marshal's Office made contact with the residents and learned Jose Angel Melendez-Dazilla had barricaded himself in a closet inside the residence. After a brief standoff, Jose Angel Melendez-Dazilla surrendered. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration pending extradition back to Mississippi.
