MCPD Arrest Report for 11/11/2019

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 72-hour period the Morgan City Police Department responded 102 to calls for service. The following person(s) were arrested as a result beginning on 11/08/2019:

Gannon Broussard, 29 years of age, Railroad Ave Morgan City, LA was arrested on 11/08/2019 at 5:11 pm

Charge:  Possession of Synthetic Marijuana-1st Offense
                Warrant: CCMC Failure to Appear for Simple Batter
                Warrant: CCMC Failure to Appear for Contempt of Court
                Warrant: CCMC Failure to Appear to pay fine
                Warrant: CCMC Failure to Appear to pay probation fee

An officer came into contact with Broussard in the area of Mount St. and learned that he had several outstanding warrants from City Court of Morgan City.  Broussard was placed under arrest and during a search of his clothing officers located a plastic bag containing suspected synthetic marijuana.  Broussard was booked into the Morgan City Police Department Jail.

Bryanshekaia Harris, 32 years of age, Fifth St. Morgan City, La was arrested on 11/09/2019 at 5:45 am

Charges: Warrant: Theft
                 Warrant: Resisting an officer by giving false information
                 Warrant: CCMC Failure to Appear to Pay fine
                 Warrant: CCMC Contempt of Court

Harris was transferred to the Morgan City Police Department from another facility and booked on Warrants from City Court of Morgan City.

Michael Alvarez, 43 years of age, Beadle St. Morgan City, LA was arrested on 11/09/2019 at 10:21 pm

Charge: Hit and Run Driving

Officers investigating a hit and run at a Hwy 182 Business were able to identify Michael Alvarez as the driver that hit another vehicle and left the scene.  Officers were able to locate Alvarez and match a piece of a broken light to Alvarez's vehicle and placed him under arrest.  Alvarez was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking.

                 No Child Restraint

Officers were called to a Shaw Dr address due to a disturbance.  As officers arrived they were told by several witnesses that the suspect had just left and were given a description of the vehicle.  Officers were able to stop the vehicle near the scene and identified the driver as Carlos Flores.  During the investigation, it was learned that a disturbance had taken place at the residence and during that time Flores struck a female subject and a child at the residence.  Flores then took the female victim's child from the residence and left.  Flores was placed under arrest, when officers stopped Flores he did not have the child in a proper car seat nor did he have a valid driver's license.  Flores was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking
