MCPD Arrest Report 11/27/2019

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 35 calls for service. The following person(s) were arrested as a result beginning on 11/26/2019:


Sarah M. Broussard, 20 years of age, Address- Terrebonne St Morgan City, La. was arrested on 11/26/2019 @ 9:21 am.

Charge: Warrant- Simple Battery

   Sarah Broussard was placed under arrest at the Morgan City Police Department for an active warrant. The warrant stems from an incident in October that alleges Broussard committed a battery on an individual. Broussard was booked and incarcerated.


Burkin J. Dupre, 33 years of age, Address- Fifth St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 11/26/2019 @ 10:05 am.

Charge: Warrant- Failure to Pay Fines (5cts)
               Warrant- Failure to Pay Probation Fees (5cts)

   Burkin Dupre was transported from the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center to the Morgan City Police Department for active warrants he held for the City Court of Morgan City. Dupre was booked and incarcerated.


Timothy S. Crum, 41 years of age, Address- Hwy 663 Morgan City, La. was arrested on 11/26/2019 @ 10:05 am.

Charge: Warrant- Failure to Pay Probation Fee

   Timothy Crum was transported from the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center to the Morgan City Police Department for an active warrant he held for the City Court of Morgan City. Crum was booked and incarcerated.


Earl Simmons, 27 years of age, Address- Third St. New Orleans, La. was arrested on 11/26/2019 @ 7:53 pm.

Charge: Disturbing the Peace Intoxicated

   Officers responded to a residence on Shaw Dr. in regard to a disturbance. Officers arrived and Earl Simmons was identified as being involved in the disturbance. When officers made contact with Simmons outside of the residence, he appeared intoxicated. Simmons was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Nicole M. Fisher, 48 years of age, Address- Red Cypress St. Patterson, La. was arrested on 11/26/2019 @ 9:11 pm.

Charge: Theft under $1000.00
               Possession of Marijuana 2nd Offense
               Possession of Sch IV CDS- Xanax
               Possession of Sch III CDS- Suboxone
               Possession of a Legend Drug (Gabipintin)
               Warrant- Failure to Appear (Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office)

      Officers responded to a local business on Hwy 182 in regard to a theft.
According to reports, store management stated that a female had come into the business and committed a theft of items totaling $10.75. The female had left the store and had gotten into a taxi cab heading West on Hwy 182. Officers were given a description of the female and the items taken. The cab was located and stopped in the area of Hwy 182 and Myrtle St. The female was identified as Nicole Fisher. The items taken from the business were found inside the taxi cab.  Officers also located suspected marijuana, pills identified as Xanax, Suboxone and Gabapentin in Fisher’s possession. Fisher also held an active warrant for the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office. Fisher was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Oscar Qunitanilla-Elzondo, 33 years of age, Address- Victor II Blvd. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 11/27/2019 @ 12:14 am.

Charge: Driving Under Suspension
               Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
               Possession of Sch II CDS- Methamphetamine
               Possession of Sch I CDS- THC Oil 2nd Offense

John P. May Jr, 29 years of age, Address- West Park Rd. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 11/27/2019 @ 12:14 am.

Charge: Warrant- Failure to Appear for Arraignment

   An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Hwy 182 and Grizzaffi St. The driver was identified as Oscar Qunitanilla-Elzondo. A computer check revealed that Elzondo’s driver’s license was suspended. The passenger in the vehicle was identified as John May. During the traffic stop, the officer located suspected methamphetamine, THC oil and drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle.  A warrant check revealed that May held an active warrant for the 16th Judicial District Court. Both Elzondo and May were placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
