MCPD Arrest Report 1/27/2020
Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 36-hour period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 97 calls of service. The following person(s) were arrested as the result beginning on 1/24/2020:
Quijakius Johnson, 37 years of age, Address-Apple St., Morgan City, La., was arrested on 1/24/2020 at 9:01 P.M.

Possession of Synthetic Marijuana (2nd Offense)
Obstruction of Justice
A patrol officer observed a traffic violation in the area of Levee Rd. and Apple St. The officer conducted a traffic stop and identified the driver as Quijakius Johnson. During the traffic stop, he attempted to flee on foot and conceal several small bags of suspected synthetic marijuana in his mouth. He was apprehended by officers and the suspected synthetic marijuana was recovered. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Jeremy Jamal Andrews, 32 years of age, Address-Shaw Drive, Morgan City, La., was arrested on 1/25/2020 at 9:57 A.M.
Warrants: Failure Appear (2 counts)
A patrol officer came into contact with Jeremy Andrews in the area of Brashear Ave. and 7th St. A warrant check revealed the City Court of Morgan City held active warrants for Andrews. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Craig Stanley French, 50 years of age, Address-Railroad Ave., Morgan City, La., was arrested on 1/25/2020 at 4:35 P.M.
Charge: Possession of Marijuana (1st Offense)
Officers were called to a Railroad Ave. address for a disturbance. Upon the officers arriving, they came into contact with Craig S. French. During the investigation, he was found in possession of suspected marijuana. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Larosia Washington, 64 years of age, Address-Railroad Ave., Morgan City, La., was arrested on 1/26/2020 at 4:53 A.M.

Possession of a Legend Drug without a Prescription
A patrol officer observed a traffic violation in the area of Railroad Ave. and Myrtle St. The officer conducted a traffic stop and identified the driver as Larosia Washington. During the traffic stop, it was learned the vehicle did not have a valid license plate, motor vehicle insurance, and no motor vehicle inspection sticker. Washington was found to have a legend drug in his possession without a prescription. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Joseph James Thibodaux, 21 years of age, Address-West Ibert Street, Franklin, La. was arrested on 1/26/2020 at 10:57 P.M.
Warrants: Possession of Stolen Things $1,000.00 to $5,000.00

Franklin Police Department came into contact with Joseph J. Thibodeaux in Franklin, La. A warrant check revealed Morgan City Police Department held active warrants for his arrest. He was transferred from the Franklin Police Department to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Shane Eugene Richard, 25 years of age, Address-Gabriel St., Patterson, La., was arrested on 1/27/2020 at 12:09 A.M.
Charge: Disturbing the Peace Intoxicated
Resisting an Officer
Officers were called to a local business on First St. about an intoxicated person causing a disturbance. Upon officers arriving, they came into contact with Shane Richard. Officers observed he was in an intoxicated condition causing a disturbance. When officers attempted to arrest Richard he pulled away from officers. Officers were able to handcuff him and placed him under arrest. He was transferred to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Kevin Darby, 29 years of age, Address-Martin Luther King Blvd, Patterson, La., was arrested on 1/27/2020 at 1:35 A.M.

Flight from an Officer
Officers were called to a local business on Highway 182 about a vehicle with a small child in the vehicle unrestrained that had just pulled off the highway. Upon officers arriving, they observed the vehicle exiting the parking lot onto Highway 182. The officers observed the child in the vehicle was still unrestrained. The officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop, the vehicle fled from officers entering U.S. Highway 90 into Berwick, La. The vehicle pulled over on U.S. Highway 90 in Berwick. The driver was identified as Kevin Darby. A computer check revealed his license was under suspension. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Norman Joseph Vinning Jr., 53 years of age, Address-Location Pecan St., Morgan City, La., was arrested on 1/27/2020 at 2:23 A.M.
Charge: Monetary Instrument Abuse
Officers were called to a local business on Highway 182 about a customer attempted to pay for merchandise with a counterfeit $10.00 bill. When the employee questioned the customer about the counterfeit $10.00 bill, he ran out of the store. The merchant identified the customer as Norman J. Vinning Jr. Officers were able to locate Vining at this residence on Duke St. and was placed under arrest. He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
