Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour period the Morgan City Police Department responded 38 to calls for service. The following person(s) were arrested as a result beginning on 07/08/2020:
Chris Toups, 40 years of age, First St. Berwick, LA was arrested on 07/08/2020 at 11:34 am
Charges: Third Degree Rape
Chris Toups was arrested after detectives received a complaint of a sexual assault in which Toups was identified as the suspect. Toups was located by detectives and after their investigation, Toups was placed under arrest and booked into the Morgan City Police Department.
David Francois, 48 years of age, Sixth St. Morgan City, LA was arrested on 07/08/2020 at 8:40 pm
Charges: Fugitive warrant Assumption Parish

Warrant City Court of Morgan City-Failure to Appear Remaining Where Forbidden
Warrant City Court of Morgan City -Failure to Appear Simple Battery
Warrant City Court of Morgan City-Failure to Appear Resisting an officer
David Francois was stopped for a traffic violation. While speaking with Francois the officer learned that he had several outstanding warrants for his arrest from City Court of Morgan City. Francois was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking.
