MCPD Arrest Report for 7/27/2020

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 36-hour period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 97-calls of service. The following person(s) were arrested as the result beginning on 7/24/2020.

Jakhi Lajuan Conner, 21 years of age, Address-West Third St., Franklin, LA., was arrested on 7/24/20202 at 1:00 P.M.

Charge: Simple Battery

Jakhi L Conner committed a batter on another individual while incarcerated at the Morgan City Police Department. He was placed under arrest for the battery and booked at the Morgan City Police Department.

Sherman J. Banks, 46 years of age, Address-Railroad Ave., Morgan City, LA., was arrested on 7/24/2020 at 4:54 P.M.

Charge: Possessing with the Intent to Distribute Marijuana
               Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
               Transactions involving Proceeds
               Violation of Uniform CDS-Drug Free Zone
               Illegal use of CDS in the Presence of a person under 17 years of age

Morgan City Police Department Narcotics Division conducted a search warrant at an address on Railroad Ave. with the assistance of St. Mary Shariff Narcotics Division. Investigators located Sherman J. Banks in possession of suspected marijuana that was packaged for sales along with monies suspect from the sales of illegal narcotics. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Joshua Dale Repp, 21 years of age, Address-Oak Lane, Pierre Part, LA., was arrested 7/24/2020 at 8:19 P.M.

Charge: Theft under $1,000.00
               Criminal Trespass
               Entry on or Remaining after Forbidden

Officers were called to an address on Highway 182 for a theft complaint. Upon officer's arrival, they learned Joshua Repp had entered the property after being forbidden and commit a theft. Repp then fled the area on foot. Officers located Repp attempted to hide from responding officers at an address nearby. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department.

Hubert Terry Lovett, 56 years of age, Address-Leo Drive Patterson, LA., was arrested on 7/25/2020 at 10:26 A.M.

Charge: Possession of Marijuana (1st Offense)


Warrant: Charge: Domestic Battery (Felony)

Officers were called to an address on Martin Luther King Blvd. for a disturbance. Upon officer's arrival, they came into contact with Hubert T. Lovett. A computer check revealed the Morgan City held an active warrant for his arrest. During the arrest, officers located suspected marijuana in his possession. He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Timothy Collier, 21 years of age, Address-Highway 182, Morgan City, LA., was arrested on 7/25/2020 at 5:19 P.M.

Warrant: Theft under $1,000.00

Timothy Collier was located at the Berwick Police Department and placed under arrest on an active warrant held by the Morgan City Police Department. He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Richard Isaiah Ruelas, 28 years of age, Address-Highway 182, Morgan City, LA., was arrested at 3:47 P.M.

Charge: Driving While Intoxicated (2nd Offense)

Officers were called to the area of Highway 182 a suspected intoxicated driver. Upon officer's arrival, they located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. The driver was identified as Richard I. Ruelas. The officers suspected driver impairment and placed him under arrest. He was transported to a local medical facility and a blood sample was collect. He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Atlas Joseph White, 28 years of age, Address-Oil Tank Alley, Moran City, LA., was arrested on 7/27/2020 at 12:46 A.M.

Charge: Domestic Abuse Battery (Felony)

Officers were called to an address on Railroad Ave. for a disturbance. Upon the officer's arrival, they learned Bethany R. White and Atlas White committed a domestic abuse battery on one another. They were placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
