MCPD Arrest report for 10/12/2020

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 96-hour period the Morgan City Police Department responded 144  to calls for service. The following person(s) were arrested as a result beginning on 10/08/2020:


Harpreet Singh, 40 years of age, Victor II Blvd Morgan City, LA was arrested on 10/08/2020 at 4:09 pm

Charges: Remaining after being forbidden

Harpreet Singh was arrested after officers were called to a local business where Singh as been barred from.  Singh was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking.


Nicholas Levison, 30 years of age, Willow St., Lafayette, LA was arrested on 10/08/2020 at 8:28 pm

Charges: Possession of Marijuana 1st
                 Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
                 Obstructing public Passages

Officers were in the area of Front St. when they saw a vehicle sitting in the travel lane. Officers made contact with the driver identified as Nicholas Levison.  During the investigation officers located suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.  Levison was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking.


Gordon Helman, 50 years of age, Belanger St. Morgan City, LA was arrested on 10/09/2020 at 12:30 pm

Charges: Warrant-FTA to pay Probation Fee
                 Warrant-Theft under $1000.00
                 Domestic Abuse Battery(Felony)

Officers were called to Federal Ave due to a male and female subject fighting.  Officer located the subjects and during the investigation learned that Helman had struck the female subject.  Helman was placed under arrest and officers learned of additional warrants for Failure to Appear in City Court and Theft.  The theft charge stemmed from an investigation into the theft of utilities at an Aucoin St. residence.  Helman was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking.


Terry Garrett, 64 years of age, Bowman St. Morgan City, LA was arrested on 10/10/2020 at 9:19 am

Charges: Driving under suspension

An officer observed a driver commit a traffic violation in the area of Terrebonne St.  Upon stopping the vehicle and speaking with the driver it was learned that Garrett had a suspended drivers license.  Garrett was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking.



Jeremy Olivier, 41 years of age, Railroad Ave Morgan City, LA was arrested on 10/10/2020 at 4:44 pm

Charges: No Turn Signal
                 Driving under suspension
                 Possession of Sch I-Marijuana
                 Possession of Sch II with the intent to Distribute-  Methamphetamine                                         

Olivier was stopped after he was seen by officers not using a turn signal.  Officers spoke with Olivier and could smell marijuana coming from the vehicle.  Olivier admitted that he did have marijuana in the car.  Officers searched the vehicle located the suspected marijuana along with suspected Methamphetamine, which was packaged for sale.  Olivier was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booing.  Olivier was also found to have a suspended driver's license.


Andrew Leger, 18 years old, Henry St. Patterson, LA was arrested on 10/10/2020 at 5:55 pm

Charges: Simple Battery

Prism Lopez, 23 years of age, Shelby Road, Pierre Part, LA was arrested on 10/10/2020 at 5:55 pm

Charges: Simple Battery 2cts

Donavon Davis, 18 years of age, Short St. Morgan City, LA was arrested on 10/10/2020 at 5:55 pm

Charges: Simple Battery

Officers were called to Cypress St. due to a physical altercation.  During the investigation, it was learned that after a verbal disagreement between neighbors Andrew Leger attacked the other subject.  That subject pushed Leger back and attempted to get away from him.  Leger attacked a second time during which the victim was able to pin him to the ground.  Davis then attempted to pull the victim from hold Leger down at which time Lopez stuck the victim and another subject who was attempting to help.   Leger, Davis, and Lopez were placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking.
