Arrest Report 10/01/2014

The following individuals were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning 09/30/2014:

 

 

Denise G. Givens, 36 years of age, Address-Gibson, La. was arrested on 09/30/2014 @ 7:46pm

Charge: Operating a Vehicle with a Suspended Drivers License; Improper Lighting

     A patrolling officer observed a vehicle with improper lighting in the area of Fourth St. and Railroad Ave. and stopped the vehicle to investigate.  The driver, Denise Givens was found to be operating a vehicle with a suspended drivers license and was placed under arrest.  She was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated. 

 

 

David L. Vargas-Martinez, 35 years of age, Address-Bowman St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 09/30/2014 @ 8:27pm

Charge: Possession of Marijuana with the Intent to Distribute; Possession of Schedule II CDs-Hydrocodone; Possession of Schedule IV CDS-Xanax; Violation of Uniformed Controlled Dangerous Substance Law; Illegal Use of Controlled Drug in the Presence of Persons under the Age of 17; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

     Detectives with the narcotics division of the Morgan City Police Department began in investigation into the sales of illegal narcotics from a Bowman St. residence.  As a result, a search warrant was obtained and executed at that residence with the assistance of the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Department  During the search of the residence, investigators located suspected marijuana along with evidence that the substance was being sold from the residence.  Officers also located Hydrocodone and Xanax, other controlled substances, along with items of drug paraphernalia;  The residence contained small children inside in proximity of the controlled substances.  The residence searched was also within the prescribed area of a drug free zone, therefore the suspect, David L. Vargas-Martinez, was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated. 

 

 

David A. Sons, 42 years of age, Address-Marshall St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 09/30/2014 @ 10:51pm

Charge: Operating a Vehicle with a Suspended Drivers LIcense; Improper Lighting

     A patrolling officer observed a vehicle traveling on Marguerite St. with improper lighting and stopped the vehicle to investigate.  The driver, David Sons was found to be operating a vehicle with a suspended drivers license and was subsequently arrested.  He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated. 

 

 

David P. Fonseca, 32 years of age, Address-Houma, La. was arrested on 10/01/2014 @ 12:06am

Charge: Warrant: Failure to Appear-Seat Belt Violation

     Officers investigating a disturbance at Teche Regional Hospital came into contact with David Fonseca who was found to be wanted on an outstanding warrant for the Morgan City Police Department.  Fonseca was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.
