The following persons were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning 11/26/2014:

 

 

Christopher J. Dauzet, 30 years of age, Address-Roderick St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 11/26/2014 @ 9:35am

Charge: Operating a Vehicle with a Suspended Drivers License

     A patrolling officer stopped a vehicle and detained the driver, Christopher Dauzet on Highway 182 after the vehicle was observed with improper equipment.  The driver, Dauzet could not produce a valid drivers license and was discovered to be operating a vehicle with a suspended drivers license.  He was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and released after posting a cash bond. 

 

 

Keindra N. McDaniel, 27 years of age, Address-Apple St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 11/26/2014 @ 11:55am

Charge: Warrant: Failure to Appear-Theft

     Keindra McDaniel, who was being housed at the Morgan City Police Department jail facility was booked on an outstanding warrant.  She remains incarcerated. 

 

 

        Two male juveniles, ages 15 and 16 years of age, Address-Morgan City, La. were arrested on 11/26/2014 at 1:44pm on outstanding warrants from in incident which occurred on August 23, 2014.  In that incident, a patrolling officer attempted to detain two male subjects in the area of Brashear Ave. and Fourth St. after suspicious activity was observed.  The subjects fled from the officer.  In the chase that followed, the officer was able to recover a bicycle along with a .45 cal. semi-automatic handgun which one of the subject's had discarded.  The weapon was found to have obliterated serial numbers which had been filed off in order to conceal any identifying marks.  It was seized as evidence.  One subject, was later identified during the investigation as a 15 year old juvenile.  The juvenile was eventually located and admitted to officers his involvment in the incident.  A second 16 year old juvenile was identified as the other suspect.  It was learned during the investigation that the 16 year old juvenile had stolen the weapon from a Morgan City address and attempted to file the serial numbers from the weapon.  It was also learned that the 16 year old juvenile, according to statements, provided the 15 year old juvenile with the weapon which was seized.  They were located at their residence, placed under arrest on the outstanding warrants and booked at the Morgan City Police Department.  They were released to an adult pending juvenile court proceedings. They were booked as follows:

1.) Male Juvenile, Age-15 years, Address-Morgan City, La. was arrested on 11/26/2014 @ 1:44pm

Charge: Warrant: Resisting an Officer; Illegal Carrying of a Firearm, Possession of a Firearm by a Juvenile; Possession of a Stolen Firearm

2. Male Juvenile, Age-16 years, Address-Morgan City, La. was arrested on 11/26/2014 @ 1:59pm

Charge: Warrant: Possession of a Firearm with Obliterated Serial Number; Theft of a Firearm; Possession of a Firearm by a Juvenile

 

 

Michael C. Cochran, 55 years of age, Address-Louisa St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 11/26/2014 @ 2:44pm

Charge: Warrant: Failure to Appear-Failure to Dim LIghts, Red Light Violation; Driving Under Suspenseion and Failure to Pay Fine for Reckless Operation;  Hold for Houma Police Department; Hold for Ascension Parish Sheriff's Department

     Michael Cochran was located at the Law Enforcement Center in Centerville and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked on an oustanding warrant for the Morgan City Police Department for failing to appear for traffic violations.  He is also being held on a hold for Houma Police Department as well as the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Department.   He was booked.and remains incarcerated.

Charge: Warrant: Failure to Pay Probation Fee

     An officer responded to a vehicle crash in the area of Allison St. and came into contact with a male subject, Jacob  Gil.  It was discovered that Gil was wanted on an outstanding warrant for the Morgan City Police Department. He was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and released after posting a cash bond. 

 

 

 

Robin D. Carbin, 45 years of age, Address-Seventh St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 11/26/2014 @ 10:24pm

Charge: Warrant: Failure to Pay Fines-Disturbing the Peace Intoxicated, Illegal Carrying of a Weapon and Contempt of Court

     Robin Carbin was located at Teche Regional where he was placed under arrest on outstanding warrants for the City Court of Morgan City.  He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department's jail facility where he remains incarcerated. 

 

 

Kendrick Ruffin, 24 years of age, Address-Gibson, La. was arrested on 11/27/2014 @ 12:16am

Charge: Operating a Vehicle with a Suspended Drivers License

     A patrolling officer stopped a vehicle on La. Hwy 182 after it was observed speeding.  The driver, Kendrick Ruffin was found to be operating a vehicle with a suspended drivers license.  He was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and released after posting a cash bond. 

 

 

Irvin Arce, 34 years of age, Address-Dixie Rd. Franklin, La. was arrested on 11/27/2014 @ 12:46am

Charge: Possession of Marijuana; No Drivers License; Improper LIghting

     A patrolling officer observed a vehicle with improper lighting and stopped the vehicle at Brashear Ave. and Federla Ave. to investigate. The driver, Irvin Arce could not produce a valid drivers license.  During the stop, Arce was found to possess suspected marijuana inside his vehicle.  He was subsequently arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated. 

 

 

Robert Choate, 53 years of age, Address-Federal Ave. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 11/27/2014 @ 1:20am

Charge: Disturbing the Peace Intoxicated

     Officers were dispatched to a Fifth St. loung regarding a subject causing a disturbance.  When officers arrived they located Robert Choate who appeared highly intoxicated.  He was identified as the subject who was causing the disturbance and refusing to leave the premises.  He was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated. 

 

 

Peter E. Grogan Jr, 37 years of age, Address-Railroad Ave. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 11/27/2014 @ 2:30pm

Charge: Simple Battery

     Officers were dispatched to a South Railroad Ave. residence regarding a subject causing a disturbance.  Officers arrived and were advised that Peter Grogan Jr. who had already left the area had caused a disturbance at the residence and committed a battery on a female.  Officers located Grogan at his residence a short distance away.  He was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated. 

 

 

Peggy T. Foret, 57 years of age, Address-Parkway Dr. Port Allen, La. was arrested on 11/27/2014 @ 6:39pm

Charge: Careless Operation; Possession of a Schedule III CDS-Diazepam; Possession of a Schedule IV CDS-Suboxone

     Officers received a complaint of a vehicle being driven in a reckless manner in the area of Hwy 182.  Officers located the vehicle in the area and identified the driver as Peggy Foret.  Foret was found to be in possession of various narcotic pills which she allegedly did not possess a valid prescription.  She was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated. 

 

 

Allen Lennep, 58 years of age, Address-Egle St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 11/30/2014 @ 7:35am

Charge: Warrant: Probation Violation; Warrant: Failure to Pay Probation Fee

     Allen Lennep was located at the Law Enforcement Center in Centerville, La. and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked on outstanding warrants for the City Court of Morgan City.  He was booked and remains incarcerated.

Charge: Disturbing the Peace; Possession of Schedule I CDS-Synthetic Marijuana

     Officers were dispatched to Lawrence Park in Morgan City regarding subjects causing a disturbance and yelling profanities. Officers arrived and located Jerald Francois and a female, Samantha Williams who were identified by the witnesses and their statements.  Both subjects were accused of using loud profane language in the park area during an arguement.  The female, Samantha Williams was found to possess an open container of alcoholic beverage.  Both were arrested and handcuffed.  Jerald Francois was also found to possess a small amount of suspected synthetic marijuana upon his arrest.  Both were transported to the Morgan City Police Department where they were booked and incarcerated. 

 

 

Raven T. Mayon, 17 years of age, Address-Gibson, La. was arrested on 11/29/2014 @ 2:10pm

Charge: Possession of Marijuana 3rd Offense; Reckless Operation of a Moving Vehicle; Improper Turning; No Drivers License; Illegal Possession of a CDS in the Presence of Persons under the age of 17

     A patrolling officer observed a vehicle make an illegal turn in the area of Brashear Ave. and Federal Ave.  The vehicle traveled north on Federal Ave. at a high rate of speed and ina reckless manner.  The vehicle was eventually stopped near Marshall St.  The driver, Raven Mayon could not produce a valid drivers license.  The subject also admitted to the presence of suspected marijuana inside his vehicle.  The substance was seized and placed into evidence.  Raven Mayon, who was also found to be in the presence of a 13 year old juvenile was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated. 

 

 

Brittany E. Whitley, 31 years of age, Address-Austin, Texas was arrested on 11/29/2014 @ 9:27am

Charge: Speeding 47/35mph zone; Expired Drivers LIcense; Possession of Marijuana; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

     A patrollling officer observed a speeding vehicle traveling on Highway 182 and clocked the vehicle at 47mph in a 35mph zone.  The vehicle was stopped and the driver identified as Brittany Whitley.  Whitley was found to be operating a vehicle with an expired drivers license.  She was also found to be in possession of suspected marijuana as well as items of drug paraphernalia which she identified as belonging to her.  She was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated. 

 

 

Curtis R. Robinson, 44  years of age, Address-S. Railroad Ave. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 11/28/2014 @ 5:22pm

Charge: Warrant: Failure to Pay Fine-Disturbing the Peace

     Officers located Curtis Robinson at a Fourth St. residence and placed him under arrest on an outstanding warrant for the Morgan City Police Department.  He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated. 

 

 

Rayfield Grant Jr, 29 years of age, Address-Front St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 11/20/2014 @ 11:36am

Charge: Domestic Abuse by Strangulation

     Officers were dispatched to a Front St. residence regarding a domestic dispute.  Upon arrival officers were advised that a male subject, Rayfield Grant Jr. had become involved in an arguement with a female at the residence.  Grant was accused of grabbing the female around the throat during the arguement which reportedly occurred the presence of two small juveniles.  The subject, Rayfield Grant Jr. was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he became combative and attempted to harm himself as well as other officers.  He was placed into a holding cell until he could be processed safely.  He remains incarcerated.
